Bloody Disgusting: "Yes I’ve played Bloodborne and yes it is an excellent game chock-full of Lovecraftian themes and imagery but today I’m talking about a game that predates Bloodborne by half a decade. While revisiting my back catalog (courtesy of three years worth of PSN’s monthly games), I stumbled upon Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I was familiar with the game’s title and genre but during my playthrough, I was immediately struck by how Amnesia absolutely nails the feeling of being a narrator in one of H.P Lovecraft’s short stories."
Sclerosis, the Amnesia: The Dark Descent VR remake by modder Deesice is now available for free, you'll just need a copy of the original game.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is unofficially coming to PCVR. Sclerosis VR is slated to arrive this Autumn with full motion controls.
The works of H.P. Lovecraft are famous throughout the world, and they manage to inspire some of the best horror games out there.
Yep, Bloodborne has been fantastic in this regard. Man... I cannot wait for the second iteration of that game. Would blow the hell up.
It's really not. Bloodborne is better for Lovecraft like lore.
What about that new Call of Cthulhu game that comes out in like 2 days?
To each their own it was one of my favorite horror experience back in 2010 but the game has aged quite poorly, although its to be expected from a game made 8 years ago.
Never played these, grabbed the collection on a psn sale over a year ago but still haven't touched them. I love me some horror games but I just hope it's not so confusingly resourceful like RE. The scare factor dies out when you spend so much time solving really confusing puzzles to progress
