I've been gaming probably much longer than you son. A roadmap is something that indie devs use to reassure kickstarter backers or early access purchasers that they have a plan to complete the development of the game.

Being an online MP game, I predict a buggy release. Poor matchmaking. Excessive MT. Some kind of free offering for the day one buyers who couldn't play the game because of network problems. A bunch of hype made by them over some maps. A bunch of promises that they were unaware of the problems and are working diligently to fix them. A few new modes which ultimately don't offer up much new content, and instead reuse resources. A squandering of the season pass if it exists, and some excessively priced DLC later for the diehard fan to try and keep them off of the next COD until the next online MP game from EA releases.(Feel free to interchange any publishers name for the sake of consistency).

In other words....THE FUTURE OF GAMING!!!!

At least if these publishers continue to push their agendas.

The Beta was fun, all post-launch DLC maps will be free, and I trust DICE, so this will be a day 1 for me.

I play Battlefield for the Conquest mode. That's it. Everything else is just gravy.

To be honest the game will be complete based on the fact that they'll still be offering a full SP and MP game like always. The BR mode is a bonus, that will arrive 4 months later.

For any other Battlefield game, that would be the full release, but DICE were the ones who announced the new mode but waited to say it wouldn't be included until much later. BR is a major factor in some people's purchase for this game, so to me (not saying I would buy a game based on the BR but people like that do exist) it's not a full release yet.

I've known for weeks/months it would be not at release, but no one knew it would take four months to come out. They shouldn't have announced it until it was ready for release if it was that far behind the other parts of the game.

Battlefield 5 is about MP, especially Conquest. That will be there. There will be SP. Battle Royale will be added later; no big deal.

"Disrespect" was in reference to the company telling people in response to having criticisms that they shouldn't buy the game if they don't like it. "Confusion" was in reference to the trailers that keep showing off a different tone to the game, and their constant back and forth on to what degree of realism/immersion there will be. It's like people within the company that speak at events or to websites, don't coordinate with each other on the official response and go with what they think instead.

This just in, BFV not included at launch, but stay tuned for our totally awesome live service tho were the entire game is gonna be added slowly over the course of 11 months even tho the game is going to be DOA because no one has the patience to wait for dice to get their crap together every single game, every single time ... figured they would learn about the lack of content from bf1 but here we go again gotta wait MONTHS until bfv even has the same amount of stuff that bf1 launched with and bf1 was so severely lacking in content it was pretty much dead after 2 months? so couple that with the adversity this junk has seen and im giving this game 3 weeks even for those who purchase it, which most from the looks of things wont ... this game could be the biggest financial disaster of the generation

I think they need to take away Star Wars from Dice. They seem to be stretched too thin with Battlefield, Star wars, and they have the Dice LA team working on the next battlefield. They also need to tell the suits at EA to back the F- UP!.
