nice launch for Call of Duty.

Gameseeker_Frampt2431d ago

I do love how that is all you have to say. Last week in response to the explanation of why the PS4 Pro sales were so low you said "it's been low for months.. When do we stop with the excuses?" This week when it sells 6 times as much as last week - silence. Apparently the impending permanent price drop was the cause for the low sales last week.

https://n4g.com/news/220982...

Neonridr2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

yes, that's all I have to say. What else do you want me to say? That the Switch still managed to chart more titles? That hardware wise it still sold just under 2:1? I mean I could have gone off praising Nintendo, but I decided to keep it short and simple. Gets a little repetitive talking about Nintendo dominating the software and hardware charts. But hey.. The Pro sold 15,000 units (1/3 of the Switch). Hooray?

You have to remember that I do own a PS4 Pro as well, so while you like to pretend like I only care about Nintendo, I actually support Sony just as much.

Kiwi662431d ago

So should they write an essay like some do

Lime1232431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

Yep. It sold better than all Switch titles COMBINED.

After first 18 months Switch is behind Wii, 3DS, GBA and DS in Japan. What a monster!

Neonridr2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

jesus dude, two weeks ago Mario Party sold more than any PS4 title combined, what's your point?

You need to give it up, Japan belongs to Nintendo, always has. Wanna guess at the software numbers of Pokemon and Smash in the next few months in Japan? I guess I should bid you farewell since I won't see you around the articles at all.

oh look Spiderman got outsold by MK8 in Japan. The PS4 is also behind the PS3, it will never sell over 11 million units in Japan.

King_Noctis2431d ago

Wait till Pokemon and Smash arrive.

jaycptza2430d ago (Edited 2430d ago )

@Neonridr can you not count SMP sold 206k and the PS4 version of Call of Duty Sold 228k so no your eyes need glasses or you are dyslexic

Neonridr2430d ago

@jaycptza - when SMP launched it outsold every other title that week put together. You need glasses, learn to read what is written first.

Seven PS4 products in Top 10 on Amazon Japan.

And it still can't beat the Switch in sales. Smash and Pokemon are coming.

Gameseeker_Frampt2431d ago

Yeah, you own a PS4 but are always the first in line to go after Sony and PS4 sales numbers in Japan....

What exactly does Switch sales have anything to do with your comments last week where you disregarding the reason why the Pro sold so poorly that week? Someone explained to you why the numbers were low and you made fun of that reason. The same thing happened when there was a PS4 shortage in Japan early this year after MHW came out yet you tried to claim that 10k PS4 and PS4 Pro weekly sales were the new normal in Japan. Apparently you are just another fanboy who cannot admit that they were wrong.

michellelynn09762431d ago

Someone can own a ps4 but acknowledge how good the Switch is doing. I think Sony messed up their launch in Japan. They launched the ps4 six months in Japan after it launched in Europe and America. I think that hurt Sony in Japan. Just my opinion though.

Gameseeker_Frampt2431d ago

@michellelynn0976

Except that isn't what he does. Neonridr always attacks Sony on their sales figures. That isn't acknowledging how good the Switch is doing.

Neonridr2430d ago

@Gameseeker_Frampt - I didn't attack anything. Sure, the Pro sales were lower last week because of the impending price drop. But weeks before when sales were still low what was the excuse? If the Pro continues to sell 15K units each and every week then fine, but let's wait and see before we act like this will make any sort of a permanent difference. The fact is Sony fans deflect everything and try to pull straws from nowhere (see Lime for example). All I said this week was a nice launch for Call of Duty. It was YOU who decided you needed to settle some score. So maybe you should just let it go.

ZeekQuattro2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

Not sure what people are disagreeing with. That s the best sales of a COD game in Japan in years.

Neonridr2430d ago

sadly the disagree button isn't necessarily for what was said, but who said it. I guess some Sony fans feel threatened by anything I say, hence the disagrees. I wish they would grow up, it's not like I said anything inflammatory.

Gameseeker_Frampt2430d ago

@Neonridr

Which weeks before last week had 2.5K PS4 Pro sales? Please list them. Apparently they must be a lot of them since you are still trying to justify your claim that 2.5K was a not out of the ordinary and it was ok for you to make fun of someone for claiming otherwise.

As for deflecting, you and Lime are about the best ones here at doing that. When your preferred console/software sells well, you brag about it. When something else sells better, you make some stupid comparison to McDonald's that sales don't equal quality and one shouldn't throw numbers around. I understand that the WiiU years were rough on you and now you feel the need to make up for it, just don't expect everyone else to ignore your constant hypocrisy and the attacks on any fact that goes against your opinion.

Neonridr2430d ago (Edited 2430d ago )

I don't have to brag about anything.. I call it like it is. Nintendo generally sells better in Japan, nothing new there. I still had a PS4 during my Wii U years, so I fail to see the insult there.

Just stop it dude, give it up. Pro sales went up, yippee. Will they stay there? Time will tell. I mean if you want to be that guy (Lime) who brags and tries to put down Nintendo because the Pro experienced a bump in overall sales but still sold considerably less, then be my guest. It doesn't bother me at the end of the day.

Gameseeker_Frampt2429d ago

Neonridr2429d ago

I wasn't making fun of anyone. Why are you so desperate to prove yourself over something so insignificant. Let it go. You and Lime desperately try to take some sort of personal vindication if something good happens for the PS4 one week in Japan. Christ, where are you guys every other week when it's status quo and Nintendo dominates the charts both software and hardware. Suddenly the PS4 does one thing good and you guys come and puff your chests out. Pro sales were normally in the 4K range (I guess), to be honest I never really looked that much into them because that number is low to me when compared to Nintendo numbers. Again, let's wait and see what the numbers look like over the next few weeks. If they return back down to 4K units, then what?

Gameseeker_Frampt2429d ago

So when asked to provide facts you instead claim ignorance on sales numbers (even though you comment on every article that provides those sales numbers) and once again bring up Nintendo's sales as some sort of justification for your fanboy behavior. Typical.

"I don't have to brag about anything" - just have the compulsive need to comment on every Media Create Sales since the Switch has launched. You didn't care at all about what people in Japan were buying during the WiiU. Almost all the articles you posted to N4G were from the launch of the WiiU and apparently that console's failure was traumatic enough for you to give up on contributing. Even when confronted with you being wrong about why the PS4Pro sold poorly last week all you can do is bring up Nintendo sales. Here's the thing - most people don't care about the sales between the different consoles. Handhelds sell exceptionally well in Japan and the Switch is further proof of that. Another fact is that in Japan the PS4 is selling the same amount now as it did before the Switch launched so neither has impacted the sales of the other. Most people read the Media Create Sales articles to see what the facts are. You are not one of those people since every time you are presented with the reason why the weekly sales are the way that they are you turn it into some pissing match between the Switch and PS4. You still cannot admit that you were wrong when you claimed that 2.5K was the normal weekly sales for the PS4Pro in Japan. I'm sure next week when it sells 5k you will be talking about the huge drop in sales even though that is the amount it has been selling at for months. I expect to be reading that next week since we both know you cannot help but comment on the Switch/PS4 sales in Japan.

Neonridr2429d ago (Edited 2429d ago )

what do you mean.. Wii U software still outsold PS4 software by wide margins. You guys come in here and laud that Call of Duty a 3rd party game sells 200k initially.. but then forget that games like Splatoon have sold over 10 times that amount on the Switch. A kid friendly shooter with paint. I mean if that's your thing, have at it.

I don't understand what your fascination is on this topic. Ok, so 2.5K was low even for the Pro. But stop acting like it sold so much more than that. I mean are we really nitpicking over an extra 1.5K units.. The 3DS still sells more than that.

At the end of the day, believe what you want. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't care what you say about me, so insult me all you want. I literally came in here and commended Call of Duty, then you felt the need to make some personal crusade against me because the Pro numbers went up for a week. Let's see what happens to them moving forwards. If they return to the 4-5K mark, then really nothing changed. Nintendo is doing what it does with hardly anything new releasing. Wait until a big title comes along, and then we can talk about hardware surges. Because if the Switch is selling 45-50k now with nothing new, how do you think sales will be impacted when titles like Pokemon and Smash come along? With NO price drop.

I am done with this conversation, you are making a mountain out of a molehill and it's tiring. I was wrong about the Pro sales numbers, does that make you happy?

Gameseeker_Frampt2429d ago

PS4Pro sales dropped by 50% last week and when confronted with the reason why you openly mocked that reason, just like you have always done. Media Create Sales is about facts yet you being a fanboy do not care about facts that don't support your position. You like to claim that you have a PS4 and that you are not a fanboy, yet whenever the PS4 does well in Japan you completely ignore that fact yet cannot help but get excited about Switch sales. You are just another fanboy and I am just calling you out on it.

As for the sales of Call of Duty, the first 2 people here to laud about it were Lime and yourself. Seems like there isn't much difference between you two. I haven't once mentioned Call of Duty sales but that fact hasn't prevented you from saying that I have.

Neonridr2429d ago

I merely gave a compliment to the game and that the Japanese clearly like that game. I don't "claim" to own a PS4. I do. Neonridr is my PSN. Sales have always been low for the Pro, I mean are we saying that 5K units a week is a lot? I guess when you factor it in to total PS4 sales in Japan it's a lot. But then again the PS4 doesn't sell a lot each week in comparison to the Switch. So you are right, Pro sales went up huge this week, I never once discounted that fact. And yes, I am sure the low sales the week before were in direct result of the price drop, you are right there. However, was this something that will change anything moving forward? Or was it merely a blip and things will return to normal? Time will tell I guess.

"whenver the PS4 does well in Japan you completely ignore that fact". Yet there I was, applauding the sales of a PS4 game... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I dunno dude, I mean that's sort of the biggest takeaway here, that Call of Duty sold REALLY well. I can't justify what Lime says, he doesn't even acknowledge Nintendo..

cheers Gameseeker, hopefully we can just leave it at that. If you don't like what I have to say or agree with it, then fine, nobody is asking you to. You can block me if you wish and go about your business. :)

Very impressive numbers for an FPS in Japan. Call of Duty is popular there but those numbers are very strong.

That Battle Royale appeal

Good on CoD. I skipped the last 3 games and must say i'm really liking BO4. I'm having a blast with almost every mode.

Splatoon 2 is a phenomenon in japan, its been in the top 10 since launch!

Yeah it does look good wonder why it was canned

Probably a proper game with no MT and they didn't see any profits 😂🤣

That Neversoft logo took me back to Tony Hawk days. Sad to see this cancellation led to the studio closure.

Juancho51501d ago

It’s always sad to see great concepts destroyed so deep into development. They obviously had a lot of ideas and aren’t happy about it. Now withe layoffs even more videos like this will surface soon.

The last one on the switch was the best one I've played since the gamecube gamed. What's this about

ZycoFox710d ago

Hadn't played any since MP1 and played the newest one, it's really good. The other ones with the shared carriage I wasn't a fan of that I'd seen online though.

I think 1 or 2 of these is enough per system as long as it has enough mini games, replayability, maybe some unlockables and a good selection of boards/maps.

Concertoine710d ago

Last one was pretty good, I think the next one should have more maps from the GC era though. The N64 maps are boring.
