Zach Murphy writes: "Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance is an incredible PS2 title that came before its time. Many of my years have been spent completing this game over and over. I was in school when the game was released and I’m pretty sure I owned it pretty close to its release date.".
Zach writes: In its day, the PS2 was THE console to have if you were into fighting games. Home to the Tekken series, as well as numerous entries in the Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur franchises, it wasn’t exactly hard to pick up a decent fighting game if you were at the store.
I still can't believe that PS2 port of the Fist of the North Star fighting game was never released outside Japan. The original arcade game is so hard to emulate, man. It's an Arc System Works game, usually they always get a release in the west, why not this particular one? If only someone could come up with a PS4 port, even digital-only, I'd buy this without batting an eye.
Zach writes: 'Fighting games have always been a favourite genre of mine. I love remembering the times my brother and I sat together in front of our original PlayStation having match after match on Tekken 3.'.
I remember playing the demo for this on one of those old PlayStation 2 Magazine demo discs and really enjoying it.
Still have a working PS2 so I think I'll try to find a copy.
