How Odyssey is changing the face of Assassin's Creed

Whatched the gameplay today, its even further removed for an AC game to a point that its completely lost its identity as an AC game. I think I'll pass on this.

I can understand that. But it’s still looks phenomenal. If this was just a new open world game somewhat like watchdogs was and wasn’t connected to the AC series, people would be losing their minds at how good it all looks and how many options you have in the game.
But because it has the AC name people don’t want too much change. Then would bitch that the game doesn’t try anything new. You can’t win either way. At least they are making the game they want and it genuinely looks good.

The truth is, many of the people complaining are actually nothing more than obnoxious contarian types who just want to be negative and contrary. It wouldn't matter what the developers did with the game those people would make it out to be a bad thing.

To me, what the developers have done with the game are all logical evolutions of the core Assassin's Creed elements. It looks like a great game for my tastes and I could even see it surpassing Origins for me, which so far is my favorite Assassin's Creed game overall.

Thats a very naive thing to say, not all of us "yes men" and many of us have genuine concerns about this game like for instance how much it resembles The Witcher especially in its gameplay mechanics.

You talk about the core elements evolving yet from what I have seen it hasnt evolved, its completely replaced for instance the stealth gameplay is now almost non-existent, even the hidden blades have been removed and if they do put it in then AC Odyssey isnt as historically accurate as they claim seeing that it was only invented after the years they say Odyssey plays off in.

Its not about being negative, its about raising concerns that many fans of the series have.

that's actually what I'm excited about I stopped playing after brotherhood . .it became too much of the same formula . .but with this one I finally see them going in a different direction and I'm excited to support that, I feel like it needed to spice thing up just a tad because it was getting kind of stale, like the other poster said I understand you totally but for me this is the reason I've been waiting for to jump black in, I'm also using the girl character she looks badass

I believe it's okay to take some liberties with a formula every once in awhile.
