Top 5 Multiplayer Games That Died Instantly

Unlike single-player titles, multiplayer games need a specific amount of players to keep it going. Whether it's filling matches or providing legitimate reasons to continue support, if not enough people are playing the multiplayer game is shut down. Some have months or years before this happens but others aren't so fortunate, sinking so quickly that they fade into memory. Here are the top 5 multiplayer games that died instantly.

I wouldn’t say Titanfall 2 died instantly. Maybe slowly but not instant. I played it for at least 4 months with no issues finding full games.

Prubar2354d ago

Did you play the 1st one? I thought the map/mech/pilot balance was way better in the first. Still enjoyed the second but man the first just felt more intense and less random.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH2354d ago

Yes I have them both and I agree

ParanoidFreak2354d ago

TF2 gets a lot of love and rightfully so... but Titanfall 1... ohhhhh man... that game DESTROYS 2 in every which way from gameplay, movement, action, and just overall fun.

Titanfall 1 is solely the one reason my Xbox One purchase was not a disaster. People love TF2 but I feel bad for the ones who never experienced TF1. Almost a game worth buying a system for.

TF1 is the BEST action-oriented MP FPS in years. Just behind COD4.

Buy a cheap XB1, the game is a couple bucks, and come back and comment how much better your life is now.

Sono4212354d ago

Honestly I think Titanfall 2 was a great game, it's a shame it didn't do so well. Unlike you I thought the second one was better in like every way, to each his own I guess.

Daeloki2354d ago

Agreed, took me a good while before I even got Titanfall 2, and even then I played it for pretty long and never had any problems finding other players.

KaladinStormblessed2354d ago

I still occasionally boot up Titanfall 2 and still have no issue finding matches

outsider16242354d ago

What about now? Was thinking of downloading it again

excaliburps2354d ago

Definitely not. Even today, there are still a few thousand playing on PS4. BN or every game needs 500K people playing for it to be considered not dead.

Silly gameAr2354d ago

You can still find games on Titanfall 2. Me and a friend played MP on New Years and played for a couple of hours.

Just checking over the list and I don’t think TF2 belongs in this category. I mean it did have a pretty fantastic SP.

KillZallthebeast2354d ago

You could add fallout 76 as a special mention, but it was stillborn so never really alive to begin with

Ricegum2354d ago

Huh? Didn't Fallout 76 sell over a million in a few days? I don't like the game, but it's definitely not dead.

UltraNova2354d ago

Day 1 sales are irrelevant in light of what followed regarding F76. A lot of people who bought it and experienced this atrocity of a game left and never looked back.

KillZallthebeast2354d ago

Indeed it did and I bought it knowing it might be a let down, however its beyond that and with each patch bethesda releases it somehow makes the game even more unplayable. Inventory with some legendaries can cause bluescreens every 2-3 minutes without exaggeration.

My group of 8 friends all bought it and none of us currently play due to how unplayable the game currently is.

KillBill2354d ago (Edited 2354d ago )

Titanfall 2 is still very active now. My son plays it all the time... plenty of people.

Lawbreakers was a complete joke

Larger tier multiplayer games being released.

TravieTrav2482d ago

Exactly! There are a whole hell of a lot of games out there and the bigger one will almost always push the others out.
