THQ Nordic may have acquired the Kingdoms of Amalur property, but it still needs EA's permission to remaster or re-release the original game.
"Back in the old days, when the PS4 was but a glint in the eye of Sony, I played Kingdoms of Amalur on PS3. It was free, sort of, being a PS Plus game, and ya know what?
It passed the time. Coming back to Amalur eight years later, I’ve got me some opinions. "
THQ Nordic weighs in on bringing the action RPG to PS4 and working on expansion Fatesworn.
I'd like to pick this up later on but I hope they can fix the bugs and maybe the improve loading times in the meantime.
LOL is he joking, "We are featuring reworked graphics by vastly improved texture resolution, new rendering features for lighting and shadows. So we believe technically this will show as a crisp and smooth experience" Naaaa, I have it on PC a the textures are the same the lightning has been a little bit changed, it is more natural but that is it!
Minecraft Dungeons cracks Top Ten UK boxed charts.
It has been 6 and a half years since Reckoning's release but its sequel will most likely release close to a decade later. It feels like a good time for a remaster or remake so hopefully EA allow this to go forward.
"THQ Nordic has explained EA still has the publishing rights to the franchise."
No, they said EA have the publishing rights to Rechoning, specifically. That's just the first game, not the franchise.
Unless a miracle happens, there goes any hope of getting a remaster. :(
It will be remastered and ea will publish it. Ea was the only company to make money off this game originally. Such a great game I'd love to play it again
I hope they don't get it. KoA was an amazing game and I have a lot of fond memories of it. I don't want them raped by the most incompetent company in the business.
For craps sake, they deleted their official forums because gamers were complaining too much and are censoring/banning people from their employee run subreddits (proof in the links below).
They already destroyed Titan Quest, no need to destroy KoA.
Seriously, have a read here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/c...
and here: https://www.reddit.com/user...
And this was them trying to port a mostly bug free 12 year old game. Can you imagine what they would do to KoA?
