Yoshinori Ono has reportedly been moved to a different position within Capcom. Ryozo Tsujimoto, the son of Capcom's founder and producer for the Monster Hunter series, has apparently absorbed the fighting game division under his umbrella.
I don't know how this is going to work from here on out.
There used to be a time when Capcom were considered kings of the fighting genre. Now while Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite flopped and Street Fighter V took 2 years to be a fully fledged product, they’ve been getting showed up by a lot of other developers in the genre.
Interesting. Capcom have been doing a great job lately when it comes to listening to its fans, so wonder what this will lead to. Darkstalkers?
Actually Ono has been in the same position since 2016, Ryozo Tsjuimoto has become the head of Capcom's Division 2 from being the head of Capcom's division 3. If you look at Capcom's IR page, there are no directors listed for the company's division 3, the probability is that Both Division 2 and division 3 were merged and that given that Ryozo Tsjuimoto has a major stake in Capcom, he was given the title Managing Corporate Officer from a Corporate officer. In short, Ono was neither demoted nor replaced, he just got a new boss. :) https://www.resetera.com/th...
This was definitely a necessary move.
