Just Cause 4 Full World Map Size Revealed, Comparison To Past Games

Square Enix has shared the world map for Just Cause 4 today. The world map was uploaded to the official website to showcase the size of it and it is massive. The size of the world map appears to be pretty similar to Just Cause 2 with more land mass and less water this time unlike Just Cause 3.

It's not about size, its about how you use it. Very excited for this. Loved JC2, skipped 3 (just wasn't into it) and now JC4 looks to be shaping up nicely - I really like that they're focusing on narrative design. Blind hope don't fail me now.

I'm more interested in the game's framerate than the size of the map or anything else. I found JC3 to actually be unplayable. You blow up a gas station and Rico looks like he's moving in slow motion. It was disgraceful and a real shame considering it was a decent game. The wing-suit was incredible but whenever I blew anything up, the game went to shit.

i didn't experience any framerate problems, then again i bought the game almost 2 years later.

"Here is the full world map for Just Cause 4 as revealed by Square Enix... The distance calculated for the map is around 1024 km^2 or roughly the same as Just Cause 2."
and
"The world map for Just Cause 3 is pretty similar to 4 in term of the overall size."

Which is it?

DarkLordMalik2436d ago

The map size is similar but the land mass is bigger in JC4. You can already see it on the maps that there was more water in JC2-3.

sizeofyou2436d ago

Yep...saw the comments about reduction in water.
Anyway - will buy to support Avalanche. Especially as this isn't a Bethesda release.

Kane222436d ago

i really hope the progression is different in jc4. i hated how you could only get skill points by doing those stupid challenges..in part 3

GoldeneyeOO72436d ago

Looks pretty bad ass! The first JC I ever played was part 3 when it was free on the PSN store. After that, I went and bought parts 1&2. Looking forward to part 4.

Hardiman2436d ago

I love the JC series but it's not because of an amazing narrative or anything like but it's just fun blowing shit up and all the craziness that can happen! Really enjoyed 2 and 3 was pretty great especially with all the DLC but this one looks like it could be and really enjoyable experience!

Perfect for the person like me who wanted to play Back 4 Blood but didn’t want to pay Back 4 Blood

B4B is the definition of mediocrity. It feels like it should be good, but it's just...off somehow. Then you remember L4D/L4D2 and how much a remaster of that would be more fun. One day, please, Valve?

Dirty_Lemons842d ago

Sad though isn't it, it had all the genetic makeup needed to be L4D3 - but, as you said, something felt off. Plus I hated that card system. It overcomplicated a great formula.

gold_drake843d ago

yesss DMC 5 and DBZ fighterz, life is strange

its a very good line up not gonna lie

Exvalos842d ago

Those 3 games alone justify the price

gold_drake842d ago

they're pretty solid gaming experience imo xD

monkey602843d ago

I've never played before the storm so I'll give that a go now

gold_drake842d ago
