I may piss some people off but im very disappointed

Abriael2431d ago

I'm not. It looks fantastic.

Palitera2431d ago

Well, it looks beautiful, but...

Every headline until today: "Cyberpunk 2077 is the revolutionary game you all are not seeing, the future of gaming, it will change everything."

I still can't see anything revolutionary.

naruga2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

would be perfect if it was Third Person...the fing game cries from every corner to be 3Rd person ....shame now looks like a COD -RPG........could have tripled its success if it was

Abriael2431d ago

@Palitera: I certainly never said that. As a matter of fact, the first thing I thought when I saw the demo at gamescom is "This could easily run on current-gen."

Doesn't change the fact that it looks spectacular, though.

Brave_Losers_Unite2431d ago

Naruga you just hate games in general so it doesnt matter what your opinion about this game is

AnubisG2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

This was hyped to be the next best thing since sliced bread. This gameplay was of a generic shooter, not a revolutionary game that thas been claimed to be.

steven83r2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

@Palitera There isn't anything available today that has what this game gives you and in this type of setting. This game looks great. Not sure anything is actually "revolutionary" anymore. Shenmue was revolutionary. The level of interaction was insane for its time. CP is shaping up nicely.

Palitera2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

Surely there are gaming revolutions. All the time.

They might be good (when this gen allowed heavier open world games or sub 30 fps frame rate stopped being a corcern) or bad (loot boxes and battle royale clones), subtle (RDR's pacing and activities, Zelda's super emergent gameplay) or obvious (gamers are getting older), but the setting is constantly changing.

TLOU and God of War storytelling, pacing and graphics also changed the landscape.

I can't see anything in CP that Deus Ex doesn't offer, for instance, and the media told it was revolutionary.

Disclaimer: Not a Deus Ex fanboy. Not even big enjoyer.

Palitera2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

But I still agree the game is looking good, is already in great state and will probably be VERY good. Actually, I'm sold on it already, regardless of any of all the awesomeness still to be shown.

The only part missing (yet?) is the "revolutionary" aspect the media was so hysteric about.

b163o12431d ago

You can't satisfy everyone, I like what I've seen so far and that's just MY OPINION...

3-4-52431d ago

Yea this looks absolutely amazing. Incredibly immersive and a world & characters I would care about. That is the kind of game you just wander in and get lost for hours just because.

Can't to play this. When is release date? Fall 2019 ?

lelo2play2431d ago

Looks great. Gameplay seems solid.
Very hyped.

...but would be better if they included a option to play the game in the 3rd person.

BiggerBoss2431d ago

It looks really good, but not really what I wanted from CDPR.

I'll definitely pick it up though, it's just that I was expecting more Witcher type rpg, and less action FPS style.

Don't get me wrong, as an FPS this DOES look better than most of the competition. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Christopher2431d ago

***This gameplay was of a generic shooter, not a revolutionary game that thas been claimed to be.***

I disagree with that entirely. Nothing of that was generic.

This looked like a perfect blend of RPG and FPS. It looked like what many wanted Deus Ex: Mankind to be.

starchild2431d ago

Man, some people want to hate on this game so bad. They were complaining about not getting to see gameplay and for a lot of those people the anger was due to the fact that journalists were strongly praising the game and those people wanted to hate on the game, but how can you hate on something you haven't even seen? Well, now their moment has arrived. Now they can bash the game as much as they want. Woo-hoo!

The game looks very impressive to me.

Vegamyster2431d ago

Palitera

I disagree regarding Dues Ex offering what was shown here. It doesn't have the large world with NPC's having their own routine, driving, character customization outside of skill trees aka RPG weapons/armor gear ect, the world reacting to your choices like gangs coming out of their way if you wronged them randomly, combat looks significantly better, destructible environments, NPC sidekicks that react to the surrounding around them, pen and paper RPG backstory. This is just what I've seen from the trailer that i remember let alone other things that they're yet to reveal or show ect, this looks much better as a whole.

TheKingKratos2430d ago (Edited 2430d ago )

Yeah, but i gotta be honest too
The graphics are not that amazing neither is the gameplay
I don't see anything that make my jaw drop
And i was really hyped for it because the press made me think it something out of this earth but turn out to be something like Deus Ex.
Oh well, i'm not falling again for hype about a game untill i see it gameplay first.

bouzebbal2430d ago (Edited 2430d ago )

don't know why but reminds me of Blade Runner.
Not a fan of western RPGs though.
Feels more like an action game with RPG elements to me.

hench072431d ago

I agree reminds me of Deux Ex a bit too.

Although to be fair I didn't watch the whole 48 min.

monkey6022431d ago

It looks good. Not amazing like we've been lead to believe.

I love the aestethic and world, design, etc. I'm definitely willing to give it a go. Still disappointed it's first person.

I genuinely don't get why the journo's were wetting themselves over it saying nothing like it exists. It's very Deus Ex. It'll probably be better but still just built from that system. I guess I'll only ever see it that way until I play it myself

MIDNIITE_Z3RO2431d ago

Very Deus Ex, and I got bored with that one because it was first person. But I will say this one looks way more interesting. Just think it would be better in 3rd person. Definitely not revolutionary like a lot of journalists were saying during E3.

NecrumOddBoy2431d ago

Watched about 15mins and turned it off. I'll watch it later. t's cool but presented sort of weirdly. Not life changing like the media moistened all over. This video sort of reminds me what the original RAGE game demos were like. Looks good and I like the cyberpunk theme and The Witcher so I'll most likely buy it. I really can't believe this game won E3 game of the show.

Aeery2430d ago (Edited 2430d ago )

Awesome. Simply awesome!

This demo is mind blowing (with some minor annoying things like the not so fluid walking).
Anyway.
If you are not impressed probably you need to restore your balance, take a deep breath and watch it again because the amount of details is impressive.

MWH2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

I understand. It's hard to make a FPS stand out like 3rd Person does.

Anyway, i'm still interested in this and by the time it's done it may impress a lot more.

Advice to fellow gamers; always have your gaming meds in check to keep your expectations, healthy.

-Foxtrot2431d ago

Not what journalists have been hyping up since E3

Good but not that unrealistic level of good

Should have shown this off straight away

Gatsu2431d ago

It looks more beautiful than any other game I've seen. I totally understand all the hype now.

-Foxtrot2431d ago

Urm...lets not over exaggerate.

Gatsu2431d ago

Urm...sorry for having opinion ;). Have you seen a game like this before?

MWH2431d ago

lol Gatsu is going hyper.

I agree with you Fox, but let's see it through. I'm confident CDPR will impress in the end and in many different ways.. let's see.

-Foxtrot2431d ago

I'm just saying that's the same kind of over the top thinking which pulls you into the hype only to get it on launch day and feeling disappointed. Not because it's a bad game but because it doesn't meet those unrealistic expectations you've been lead to believe.

For example they were talking about how the graphics might make it look next gen and the like but even though I'm not a "graphics whore" they look pretty current gen to me. Great stuff tech wise from them but again it's them overselling it along with those big sites, that kind of talk is unneeded lets be honest. Let us judge the game by it's own merits with what we see directly.

Like it? Have I seen a game like Cyberpunk? I saw Deus Ex and Fallout influences with the Witcher 3 magic thrown in there along with things from Titanfall and Brink. Not something exactly Cyberpunk 2077 but saw the many games with similar features and the like, where the devs might have been influenced. Cyberpunk as a genre? Maybe games like Ruiner, Satellite Reign, Observer, Binary Domain, Syndicate...there's been a few, that's not talking or comparing the quality of those games by the way.

RememberThe3572431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

I'm currious what you were expecting. I haven't seen a game like this and didn't expect the level of detail and moment to moment interactivity they're showing. I'm a Deus Ex fan and none of those games have come close to what CDPR just showed us. Can't think of a shooter, or any game for that matter, on this level.

Nvm just saw your other comment. Still seems odd to be disappointed in game that youve never seen the likes of before because journalists we're excited about it. I mean every one of the games you mention has one thing in common with this game and is executed on a much lower level. It's reminds me of the Gears of War/Killswitch aruments way back; yes Killswitch did cover based third person shooting first, but Gears did it SOOOOO much better. I feel the same way with this game; it has all these elements melded together that bring a world to life in a way we just haven't seen before.

Anyway, I'm impressed, for whatever weight that carries around here...

alexgibson2431d ago

What other games have done this before, in your opinion?

AngelicIceDiamond2431d ago

So what CD has done has taken all the formulas from past single player games and out into one. Creating something that isin its own right revoltionary. I saw Mass Effect, Witcher, TLOUS in terms of narrative, Skyrim and GTA, Deus X. All of the industry's leading single player games packed into one.

As far as I'm concerned I've seen nothing like that.

Just give me one game that do all things CP can or could do? Spoiler: It doesn't exists. Guys like you are just disappointed because of the tremendous hype the journalists brought all over since E3. And to be fair, this must be an alpha version of the game which will likely came out in 2020… Don't believe the hype can we say, but it's CDPR and I think we can trust them on their high ambitions for this game.

mkis0072431d ago

I like the damage on the environment. But the visual quality isnt there yet. But everything can change.

Aceman182431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

I was not impressed at all, hopefully they'll show something else that does. This was overhyped for now.

I'm not seeing the future of gaming in that demo

DarkVoyager2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

It looks good for sure but nowhere near mind blowing as the media were making it out to be. Honestly think RDR2 looks much better.

Also wish it were 3rd person but that’s just me.

2431d ago
AngelicIceDiamond2431d ago

@Ang care to express what you didn't like about it? Lol I complained for a few weeks because of a no show to the public. Definitely worth the wait day buy for me.

rivaldoo7772431d ago

The amount of details in this game looks insane. But for some reason the game looks kind of boring. The characters as usual dont seem to have any personality. Didn't blow me away like TLOUP2 demo but still looking forward to get the game.

joab7772431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

Uh...are you kidding me? Where have you seen something like this before? We haven’t. A linear game...maybe. Open world...never. Open world rpg...nope! And the world itself is amazing!

And just remember... story wise...this is the team that gave us TW3.

This may easily be the most immersive game ever made!

Chumdiddy2431d ago

Yup. Seems very generic to me.

It looks beautiful but something is off

ApolloTheBoss2431d ago

It's people like you that made CPR hesitate to show it in the first place. It's a work in development they stress that enough for you? Not to mention it looks fucking amazing?!

mt2431d ago

I am with you and why would you care if other will be pissed off, it is your opinion.

aftershock2430d ago

Agreed! This looks awful :(

Ceaser98573612430d ago

I wasn't excited before but now having seen the gameplay i am excited.

I_am_Batman2430d ago

Watched it yesterday evening. I didn't get the bonkers levels of hype some journalists were reporting but it looks really promising to me. The demo starts out a bit slow but it picks up after a while. The guns look creative (somewhat reminded me of resistance in terms of functionality), the movement looks great (double jump, mid air dodges and, slides not to mention the mantis blade action on the wall) and the hacking will probably open a lot of possibilities too. The car chasing stuff looked great as well.

They are teasing differnet outcomes that'll ripple through the game world and the story depending on your decisions. It's also clear that they don't want to show too much right away. Overall I liked the demo.

conanlifts2430d ago

I think it was the voice over. It took away the excitement for me. Quite monotone. Also the video was compressed a fair bit. Hopefully future gameplay videos will impress more.

Exvalos2430d ago

I'm with you man, this game is definitely a victim of over hype and under delivering

Kumakai2430d ago

You didn’t piss me off but I strongly disagree. This game, at least for me is my most anticipated game hands down.

Seeing finally the full gameplay demo was truly mindblowing. I'm just speechless. It's everything I could hope for with a Cyberpunk game. I have a feeling CDProjekt will make the best game ever out of it, when just a gameplay demo was so spectacular. This is what the future of video games should look like.

Also hopefully people will finally stop whining about the f*cking first person view. Isn't it just perfect for the game :)?

Razmiran2431d ago

Honestly I dont know what people were expecting

rpvenom2431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

What happens is they kept this behind closed doors for quite some time knowing fans are dying to see this.. then you have journalists saying this is going to blow people away.. then they say there are no games like this.. so there was just a massive hype and high expectation surrounding it. i just finished watching the entire video.. and it looks great.. but i can't deny that i had so much more jawdropping expectations for it that it didn't live up to in my head..

but dont get me wrong. this could very well be a 10/10 game or close to it.. but again.. this isn't something completely game changing in the industry and i think like many others.. what we were expecting from the comments surrounding the behind closed doors showing and our expectations from CDPR.. were much higher than they should've been..

madforaday2430d ago

It is the developer that is attached to the game. I can 100% understand that.

frostypants2431d ago

Some people just wanted Witcher 3 with sci-fi. In which case such people should just go play Witcher 3. It's sad when a company does something new and ambitious, only to be met with grumbles from people who wanted more of the same.

Hungryalpaca2431d ago

I really don’t get why N4G is hating on the game. It makes no sense

RememberThe3572431d ago (Edited 2431d ago )

I'm more blown away by the negativity than anything else. I'm looking around at my games like, "what am I missing?" This looks like Deus Ex, Black, and GTA had a baby. Little stud muffin is all I'm seeing with Cyberpunk. Just wait til it grows up.

Yui_Suzumiya2431d ago

Finally, an intelligent string of comments!
The game looks incredible. It feels huge, alive and detailed. The attention to detail is incredible and this is just an early alpha look.
I'm like it when companies try new things, and I'll always support that.

CDPR will always get my money until they lose everything that made them who they are.

madforaday2430d ago

It doesn't look new, but definitely ambitious. The media, did a great job hyping this game up to be revolutionary. The footage looked great, I am now interested in this game because of that but once again, this may suffer a little bit on the media hyping this up to be a huge revolution for gaming. Of course, there is probably a lot that we don't know so we will see.

DLSS should help the Nintendo Switch 2 with longevity

Profchaos1d 17h ago (Edited 1d 17h ago )

Based on so e of the impossible ports we saw on switch 1 I'm not worried about the hardwares longevity.

Next gen systems ps6 and next box might slow down switch 2 development but given leaks showing PlayStation releasing a new portable system around the same time as ps6 that can play ps5 games says that next gen cross gen seems to be poised to last the entire generation

And right now I'd say there isn't much that couldn't be scaled down to run on switch 2

Goodguy012d ago

Nvidia or Nintendo need to come out and detail how dlss will work on switch 2. Like is it dlss4? Or just completely customized for the switch.

Tacoboto2d ago

I'm sure they've detailed exactly that in documentation provided to developers.

b00mFargl32d ago

It will probably be behind a $20 demo that we have to download. 😂

PRIMORDUS2d ago

I like to know as well, which version of DLSS? 2, 3, 3.5 or 4? I mean it's not that hard for Nintendo to say which version games will use.

Profchaos1d 22h ago (Edited 1d 22h ago )

Given the specs of the system and the time the hardware was produced if I had a stab in the dark I'd say a heavily customised dlss3

Neonridr2d ago

it's GPU is based around ampere technology, which is 3 series cards tech. So some features from DLSS4 can be ported down to older cards, just not some 5 series exclusive features like multi-frame gen.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2 Targeting 1080p Docked, 720p Handheld, at 30-40 FPS

The Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, but what kind of performance can you expect?

VenomUK20d ago

Targeting 1080p means a modest resolution compared to PS5 & Series X - but at least it’s a step up from the disappointing performance on Xbox Series S.

DivineHand12520d ago

I don't understand your comment. Cyberpunk 2077 runs at 1080p 60 FPS on the series S in performance mode and 1440p 30 fps in quality mode.

The series S is more powerful than the majority of the handhelds on the market because it has access to more power while the handhelds have to be constrained to preserve battery life.

gold_drake20d ago

are we really at this point, where we defend older tech?

but i get it, its nintendo, they always get away with that shit.

OpenGL19d ago

The Series S also launched at $299 almost 5 years ago.

RaidenBlack19d ago

We got CP2077 running native on a Nintendo but still no GTA V, which could've easily run on Switch 1.

Rainbowcookie20d ago

On youtube GvG they are playing the demo on switch 2 and it looks good.

Christopher20d ago

Looks like PS4 base model to me. Not sure why 12 year-old hardware quality is a selling point, especially without Ray Tracing.

Rainbowcookie20d ago

Should say good , for what it is and them working a few weeks on it.

Profchaos20d ago

@christopher it's now been confirmed the switch 2 does feature ray tracing and dlss

https://www.theverge.com/ne...

Christopher20d ago

@Profchaos none of it is in the gameplay shown for CP2077 and highly likely extremely limited for games that do utilize it. Much like the PS4/XBO. Again, 12 year old tech.

VariantAEC18d ago

Cacabunga19d ago

Smh at the level of ignorance..

Switch 2 is just a base PS4.

RaidenBlack19d ago

@christopher
Nintendo has been targeting a generation older perf since Wii.
Wii stayed at Gamecube perf level, WiiU reached slightly over X360/PS3, but commercially failed.
So, Nintendo Switched to handheld. That's a different architecture space but its a more modern architecture which let it perform much better than the X360/WiiU space and hence was able to stay relevant this long.
Hence Switch 2 continuing the handheld trend and will also be able to continue the perf trend of being able to perform slightly better than the base PS4 level space.
Yes, it should've arrived at least 2 years prior but that's Wii U gen ending early, Switch taking over early and staying relevant for much longer that caused its launch delay.

Jin_Sakai20d ago

It’s a handheld what do you expect. It’s good enough for what it is.

Profchaos20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

The echo chamber hates anything the switch 2 does apparently. Because they hate the price of some games.

Guys wouldn't have coped with the Neo Geo

ZycoFox20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

It's a portable, and it's Nintendo, not unexpected..

If you want frame rate and higher res/textures then just get a PS5 or better yet a good PC.

I wouldn't buy a Switch 2 for third party games unless they were light on the hardware.

VariantAEC18d ago

For the price Nintendo is making Switch 2 an easy skip. That isn't good.

RaidenBlack19d ago

A tiny comment without much context or reasoning, but the upvotes echo the community here.

Kornholic19d ago

The context and reasoning is very much baked into the comment.

Vits20d ago

To put things into perspective, the Steam Deck’s preset for Cyberpunk 2077 runs at a mix of medium and low settings, targets 40 FPS, and renders at 650p before upscaling. That means the Switch 2 version will likely be very close to what you get on the Deck in handheld mode, possibly a bit sharper.

When it comes to efficiency, the Steam Deck lasts between 1 hour 40 minutes and 2 hours 15 minutes while running Cyberpunk. Based on Nintendo’s own worst-case scenario, the Switch 2 should be in the same range at around 2 hours, but if it's more efficient, it could do better.

Docked mode is where things get more interesting. The Steam Deck doesn’t have an official docked mode, but with Power Tools, you can overclock it while plugged in, pushing the resolution to 900p native, bumping most settings to medium, and still holding 40 FPS. If the Switch 2 is aiming for 1080p in docked mode and achieving it natively, then it could have a slight edge in performance.

Honestly, that’s solid performance, and if the efficiency is there, it might surpass the Steam Deck when it comes to AAA games. However, it’s not going to be a game-changer. More powerful current Windows handhelds will likely surpass it in many scenarios, but they are also more expensive and less efficient.

Profchaos20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Really well said to bad everyone even slightly positive about switch is getting hate similar to the pro did.

People just don't like that people enjoy things and probably want Nintendo to fold so we only have one console maker

Vits20d ago

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I still think it can be a pretty bad value. But unlike the Pro, the lack of value isn’t going to come from the hardware or a lack thereof. It’s the game prices that could end up being way too high, with Nintendo opening the floodgates.

But that’s something we will have to wait and see.

Profchaos20d ago

@vits I agree game prices are a real problem thankfully third parties appear to have stuck to a traditional price point games like street fighter 6 appear to be available for a far cheaper price than mk world.

I'll be getting the mk world bundle personally. I would prefer the physical cart but when it's half the cost in the bundle it's a no brainer.

I still stand by the fact the hardware needs a chance to prove itself and from what I saw in yesterday's presentation it looks like strong capable hardware NVIDIA have also validated overnight that dlss and ray tracing features are supported on the switch 2 with the df team not seeing many signs of games running dlss in the presentation it seems there might be more to the hardware than we have seen right now.

I don't think downplaying the whole system is fair because of the game prices realistically this will be reflected in retail sales and the market will speak for itself right now Nintendo shares have gone up since the reveal.

Michiel198919d ago

its more the mindset of: if a gaming machine isn't EXACTLY how i want my gaming machines, it's bad.For the audience that they're targeting, it's great except the game prices...thats just stupid, but I suspect they'll get away with it and others will follow suit with their game prices.

40 on a vrr display can result in gameplay that feels akin to 60.

Vrr is an amazing tech we still need to learn if Nintendo vrr bottoms out like PS5 does (xsx doesn't) but I would be expecting 40 with vrr to become a standard on switch 2

For clarity I'm playing god of war Ragnarok using the 40 fps mode with vrr on ps5 and it's fantastic it should be a standard
