@Palitera There isn't anything available today that has what this game gives you and in this type of setting. This game looks great. Not sure anything is actually "revolutionary" anymore. Shenmue was revolutionary. The level of interaction was insane for its time. CP is shaping up nicely.

Surely there are gaming revolutions. All the time.

They might be good (when this gen allowed heavier open world games or sub 30 fps frame rate stopped being a corcern) or bad (loot boxes and battle royale clones), subtle (RDR's pacing and activities, Zelda's super emergent gameplay) or obvious (gamers are getting older), but the setting is constantly changing.

TLOU and God of War storytelling, pacing and graphics also changed the landscape.

I can't see anything in CP that Deus Ex doesn't offer, for instance, and the media told it was revolutionary.

I disagree regarding Dues Ex offering what was shown here. It doesn't have the large world with NPC's having their own routine, driving, character customization outside of skill trees aka RPG weapons/armor gear ect, the world reacting to your choices like gangs coming out of their way if you wronged them randomly, combat looks significantly better, destructible environments, NPC sidekicks that react to the surrounding around them, pen and paper RPG backstory. This is just what I've seen from the trailer that i remember let alone other things that they're yet to reveal or show ect, this looks much better as a whole.

I'm just saying that's the same kind of over the top thinking which pulls you into the hype only to get it on launch day and feeling disappointed. Not because it's a bad game but because it doesn't meet those unrealistic expectations you've been lead to believe.

For example they were talking about how the graphics might make it look next gen and the like but even though I'm not a "graphics whore" they look pretty current gen to me. Great stuff tech wise from them but again it's them overselling it along with those big sites, that kind of talk is unneeded lets be honest. Let us judge the game by it's own merits with what we see directly.

Like it? Have I seen a game like Cyberpunk? I saw Deus Ex and Fallout influences with the Witcher 3 magic thrown in there along with things from Titanfall and Brink. Not something exactly Cyberpunk 2077 but saw the many games with similar features and the like, where the devs might have been influenced. Cyberpunk as a genre? Maybe games like Ruiner, Satellite Reign, Observer, Binary Domain, Syndicate...there's been a few, that's not talking or comparing the quality of those games by the way.

I'm currious what you were expecting. I haven't seen a game like this and didn't expect the level of detail and moment to moment interactivity they're showing. I'm a Deus Ex fan and none of those games have come close to what CDPR just showed us. Can't think of a shooter, or any game for that matter, on this level.

Nvm just saw your other comment. Still seems odd to be disappointed in game that youve never seen the likes of before because journalists we're excited about it. I mean every one of the games you mention has one thing in common with this game and is executed on a much lower level. It's reminds me of the Gears of War/Killswitch aruments way back; yes Killswitch did cover based third person shooting first, but Gears did it SOOOOO much better. I feel the same way with this game; it has all these elements melded together that bring a world to life in a way we just haven't seen before.

Anyway, I'm impressed, for whatever weight that carries around here...

I saw Mass Effect, Witcher, TLOUS in terms of narrative, Skyrim and GTA, Deus X. All of the industry's leading single player games packed into one.

Watched it yesterday evening. I didn't get the bonkers levels of hype some journalists were reporting but it looks really promising to me. The demo starts out a bit slow but it picks up after a while. The guns look creative (somewhat reminded me of resistance in terms of functionality), the movement looks great (double jump, mid air dodges and, slides not to mention the mantis blade action on the wall) and the hacking will probably open a lot of possibilities too. The car chasing stuff looked great as well.

They are teasing differnet outcomes that'll ripple through the game world and the story depending on your decisions.It's also clear that they don't want to show too much right away. Overall I liked the demo.

Seeing finally the full gameplay demo was truly mindblowing. I'm just speechless. It's everything I could hope for with a Cyberpunk game. I have a feeling CDProjekt will make the best game ever out of it, when just a gameplay demo was so spectacular. This is what the future of video games should look like.

Incidentally if anyone is interested, this demo was played live at Gamescom, so what I saw was slightly different, because they asked attendees to make the choices.

In the demo I saw V actually told the Maelstrom gang that there was a virus in the chip. This results in...

The female corporate agent gets shafted, and the dude that was being held prisoner comes to greet V instead. The Maelstrom gang cleans up the credit chip, and V can grab it in the ensuing fight, so she keeps the money.

The writing/story seems excellent and about what I expected from CDPR, so I'm happy about that. The world certainly looks vast and interesting to explore with a ton of detail. Still don't know what to think of the gameplay so I will reserve judgement for now before I speak my opinion on that.

Other than that I dunno what else to say, all the gameplay behind doors impression really annoyed the crap outta me, so it may be impacting my opinions a little bit. I gotta let this reveal sink in and maybe then I will get a better idea of how I feel.

i was one of the most vocal on N4G when it came to CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 not showing the game play demo from e3. i hated the fact that media and others that were able to watch it and praising it like it was second coming.....

it's not, but it sure damn well looks good and has great potential for sure.

i will say thank you to CDPR for doing the right thing and finally showing it because i like others were getting fedup by the praise.

It's nothing that's unfamiliar to the gamer. I don't see what's so revolutionary. Of course, nowadays, gamers feel that a game HAS to be as good as the hype train allows it to be.

The world looks colorful and immersive, which I do like. But I feel like the game is trying to come across as bold and edgy. Looks like it'll be a good game though, just nothing that's genre defining or game changing.

I really don't understand all the "mehs" and "overhyped" comments. Also, people writing off the game because it's first person is silly. I actually prefer 3rd person games myself, but even I can appreciate a good fps title when I see one. The graphics and visuals of this game are awesome, not the best but that's to be expected. Where this game truly shines is the density of the city. Meaning immersion, npcs, layers of sounds, animations, physics, customization etc. This game looks so believable and I'm sure it will get better as well. There is not a single open world game with this much "density" and realism.

I can understand if you're disappointed by certain things not being to your liking, but the fact of the matter is that this game looks next gen and we have to applaud CDPR for their efforts thus far.

Well, I played Dues Ex MD like a month ago and it was brilliant. This looks way better and I am very impressed by this game. Well done CD PR well done (Witcher 3 still one of my best all time games). I do however think the Xbox one X and Ps4 pro should be able to deliver the visuals I've seen at 30fps or something. This looks amazing and the best looking future open world game to date (might even look best but youtube make the graphics look shitty compared to ingame). Revolutionary? Yes. Biggest best ever? It looked great and there was no reason to not show something like that at E3. People say gamers weren’t mature enough to handle the reveal because it’s pre-alpha so then you got websites fishing for clicks and creating myth hype. It’s just a cool looking hybrid of fallout and deus ex and I liked it a lot.

I can see why they went first person, they don’t want to animate the mobility of the character. They went for a realistic look so enemies didn’t move a lot but the death animations were good. I don’t mind using third person for menus and the cinematic side, I think that’s a fair trade. I hope they steal a 3rd person cover transition from deus ex, that would be a good addition and it’s nothing crazy animation wise. A quick glimpse of your character plus free firing around walls.

The “Jesus Christ my legs” guy as his head gets blown off and the random “wtf was that?” after the car scene got a chuckle out of me. The dialogue was alright, nothing extraordinary but you can get the tone. They should have let it create its own hype, it looks good. The mystery didn’t do it any favors.

I’m still not sure how the rpg mechanics work.

From the art style, storytelling, visuals fidelity, the beautiful rendering of the alive world and npc density which all have cycles of lifestyles - The Cyberpunk looks and feels fantastic.

I was little surprised we saw third person car driving.. It did break immersion even though it was optional.
The gameplay is definitely designed for first person combat, very similar but much more upgraded from Deus Ex.

I would love to see outside of combat third person view of V. Its surely possible if it involves exploration and conversation purpose while keeping combat in its original first person as they intend.

Overall, i cant stop thinking about the game. First day purchase, it will be a masterpiece. :)

Looks like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (a game which I love) but with MUCH more varied gameplay, I can't believe how much gameplay oriented this reveal was considering the Witcher series strong point was its story and not its gameplay (which was incredibly lackluster).

That being said the graphics are very underwhelming and with a lot of unnecessary use of motion blur but I'm honestly willing to let the final product look like this if the game controls as good as this.

I expected graphics like the ones with the spider-woman when they first showed the game. It made me believe it was a next gen game but this looks disappointing. The facial animation cannot keep up with red dead redemption 2 or God Of War. Those character models and the way they behave in Cyberpunk 2077 are too robotic. I am very disappointed.

Can nobody see why it's first person? The amount of stuff going on onscreen. The many bridges, arches and overhanging architecture would get in the way/have to be made transparent and you'd miss fine details, like the fact that npcs all seem to have varying stances and walking animations.

I am a huge fan of third person over FPS games usually, but I like the personal feel of it for Cyberpunk 2077. A bit like if Prey was in third person, it just wouldn't feel right.

While I would have much preferred the same 3rd person gameplay the witcher offered, one of my 2 favorite games of all time has been deus ex and half life! So the experience can still be really enjoyable in first person. It really all comes down to its execution and how much atmosphere it can create, it cant be a first person shooter imo, but exploring through the eyes of a first person in a deep rpg world should be awesme!

Looks great. A good dose of system shock... some Gta... some deus ex... great environments, FPS action looks good. And open world to boot. Add to all that the fact that they still got time and room to improve.

This and RDR2 are my most awaited titles for the year. Spiderman has my attention too, but I need to get me a PS4 pro for that. I could not even get through God of War on my normal PS4. Thing sounds like a jet engine, it's just unplayable, loudest piece of hardware I ever owned ... except for speakers, that is :P (cleaned it inside out, fans work fine, they are just running 150% capacity)
