Why online multiplayer isn’t for everybody

I too prefer a SP experience overall, partially because i have a hard time being able to play with friends at the same time. I love a great story and in that rpgs tend to be my favorite genre. MP is fun, but i understand his frustrations. Every gamer has their preferences and ultimately, to each their own.

Because in all of 5 minutes it becomes redundant and boring as all hell?

I only enjoy co op or fighting games online. Shooters are ok but i get bored with them quickly.

I think most gamers have a very specific multiplayer taste when it comes to gaming. I'm about 60/40 when it comes to SP/MP but I admit there are a number of MP titles I can't stop playing like Socom and Counter Strike. Its funny because the earlier multiplayer games focused on team work and connecting gamers the overall design choices were completely different kill streaks were rare and outside of Arena shooters Death Match was not popular. Does anyone else remember when multiplayer content use to be unlocked by completing SP?
