Xbox Email Suggests Doom is Coming to Xbox Game Pass on August 10

The gameplay reveal for Doom Eternal is set to take place this Friday, on August 10. So too, if a new rumor from Reddit is to be believed, is the announcement that 2016's Doom will be coming to Xbox Game Pass that same day.

I can't help but look at it as if my 2nd month subscribed I have overpaid for said game though. Which is why I would make sure there are enough games I want on the service first. From a "pure" value standpoint ya its worth it, but value in this case is only as good as what you want to play for more than a few minutes. If you only want to play 10 games on the service, it really doesn't matter if there are 1000 games. Your value is only 10 of those. Making new games available day 1 is where MS is making waves. But their own 1st party releases aren't enough to get me to sub yet. If they could get 3rd parties day 1 they would have a major coup.

You are deliberately looking at this wrongly from a one game perspective. Every time an awesome game comes to game pass people are gonna whip out the ol "I wouldn't subscribe for just one game" which isn't the point of game pass now is it.
If you are already on game pass this is an awesome free game for you to enjoy. If you don't have game pass then this is just yet another game to the growing list of AAA games offered for a really low price.
