But the Switch is only for kids games, or whatever.

ZeekQuattro1293d ago

The funny thing being that kids are more inclined to play COD or GTA over a game like this. Lol This was one of those games that after a month or so on the Switch the dev was shocked at how well it did in a short amount of time. Even the main Bloodstained game performed well on the Switch despite being damn near broken.

The word you're looking for is 'soupy games'

isarai1292d ago

The older i get, the more i realize we never stop being kids, the crushing responsibilities of the world just beat a lot of the fun out of us, and many put on a front to look more "mature" which is ironically an immature thing to do.

Yeah.

I'm recently 29, and really miss the image I have in my head of what my teens and early 20s were like.
When I was at that age, I just wanted to be the kid sitting on the floor, playing my N64.

Life man.

It's a perfect game for the Switch. It's got that classic pixelated look, same resolution & performance as on other platforms, it's cheap ($10), and it is perfect for a handheld game. I've considered picking it up for my Switch for those reasons, anyway. But it seems like those reasons would help make the Switch feel like the best place to buy the game, even as a multi-platform owner.

I don't think people only think the Switch is for kids games, as it is open to 3rd party developers & they have some "core" exclusives. But you can't argue that Big N focuses a lot more on the family-friendly end of the spectrum, even on some of their biggest exclusives. I mean, even their shooter is a cartoony affair with paint instead of bullets lol. Again, not a dis! But even when they do try to shake up a tired genre, it tends to be in a family-friendly way.

I haven't gotten to this yet but Bloodstain: Ritual of the Night is really good!

Vanfernal1292d ago

I genuinely enjoyed this game more than Ritual of the Night.

NotoriousWhiz1292d ago

I bought the original when Curse of the Moon 2 came out. I've been waiting for performance improvements for Ritual of the night, but it sounds like they never came, so I just bought Curse of the Moon instead. I'll be picking up #2 at some point in the future.
