Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "After months of revisiting some of gaming’s most special moments by looking at the games that pushed their original systems the furthest we’ve come to our grande-finale and will be taking a look at a game that is beloved by many released on a console that was equally loved. Today we’ll be talking about the Sega Dreamcast classic Skies of Arcadia, an RPG that took the genre in interesting, bold directions while pushing the least powerful console of the 6th generation to heights that made it compare favorably with some of its peers. This is the story of how Skies of Arcadia pushed the Dreamcast."
There are a bunch of amazing video game genres. A genre that is loved by many is JRPGs. So, let's talk about 10 JRPGs that deserve a remake.
Throw in Arc the Lad, Grandia, Legend of Legaia, Galarians, Xenosaga, Ar Tonelico.
I would even settle for these games being brought to modern consoles.
Personally, I prefer to buy all the "remasters" of classic games on Switch so I can play them @work and on the bus.
I haven't played Parasite Eve since the 90's and I'd love to again!
Beep, Beep. We're broadcasting live from the Dreamcast channel, and today's event is the best JRPGs on the Dreamcast.
Good picks but could've used some links to trailers also or screenshots
These remakes and remasters are must-haves in this next generation.
Gunstar Heroes was made by Treasure. I'm not sure if that IP actually belongs to Sega. If it does, the ONLY modern day developer that I think would do that game justice is Housemarque. Maybe Sega could collaborate with Sony to let them make a modern day Gunstar Heroes. I definitely think Shinobi and Afterburner need modern day remakes though.
I feel like there are stronger Sega IP's than some of the ones that were listed such as...
Vector Man
Comix Zone
Virtual On
Ranger X
Jet Set Radio
Landstalker
Eternal Champions
As hard as it was, the Shinobi remake that came out on PS2 was decent. But yes, a new remake would be great. Always loved that series.
Amazing JRPG. Skies of Arcadia & Grandia 2 were my favorites on Dreamcast.
SOA Legends is still one of my favorite RPGs of all time. The changing music that played depending on how good or how bad you were doing. The Cast. The ship combat. The base building. Such a great game.
I still have my copy it still is a great RPG
Awesome RPG. Still have it on Dreamcast.
Back off! Alpha Storm!
Fire consume my enemies! Lambda burst!
Here it goes! Omega Cyclone!
Haaaaauuh!...Ha! Cutlass Fury!
Behold! Pirates Wrath!
Moons...Petrify my enemies!
May righteousness be our shield. Shield of Justice!
Haaaa! Take that!
Lol!Lmao!
Love this game. Should have been a sequel by now or a Remake at the detail level of Sega's other games like Yakuza. Make it really look like a cartoon. We need more Vise and Aika.
The only exposure I had to this series was playing as Vyse in Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed
