Bet he enjoyed getting his ass crammed harder by Skate than any check.

Dark_Knightmare22150d ago

Bro could you hate any harder. He got 4 million in a freaking royalty check which is more than you will ever see in your life not to mention being considered the greatest skater to ever live and making hundreds of millions from that and endorsements. His name is attached to some of the greatest skateboarding games ever made so I truly don’t think he really cares about EA’s skate and judging by skate being dead other people don’t either

NarooN2150d ago

What a pointless comment lol. Why would Tony care about Skate doing well? Hell, Skate died before the TH series did, which isn't saying much but still makes your comment look even sillier and dumber than it already does.

ilikestuff2150d ago

Cheque? Cheque? Is it anything like a check?

Brave_Losers_Unite2150d ago

I saw Tony Hawk at the airport a few days ago in Jersey

I’ll never ever forgive Activision for THPS 5 that game was an abomination

ilikestuff2150d ago

1,2 and 3 were friggen bangers though. Dave Murra freestyle bmx 2 was badass too.

PurpHerbison2150d ago

4 mil doesn't seem like that much for how huge that series was.

Seraphim2150d ago

because 4 million isn't the total he received. It's one of many checks....

I'll just quote the bloody article
"Although not going into an exact figure he got for the whole series he does mentions that around the release of the fourth game, he got a royalty cheque of a whooping $4 million"

PurpHerbison2150d ago

Ah, assuming I didn't read the article? It was only like 3 sentences long and what I said still stands either or. Small amount.

Profchaos2150d ago

If love to see the original games remastered but sure to the amount of licensed content in the game everything from music to skaters to brand names plastered on every other ramp it seems like it would be impossible to do these days.

You especially can't leave out any tracks without losing the feel.

I think it's the same even for a backwards compatibility release

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch

From Polygon: "The excellent remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and its sequel came out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC last year, but the game is heading to a few new platforms soon. On Monday, the skateboarding legend himself tweeted a few cryptic messages about new versions of the Pro Skater remake in the near future, and on Tuesday, Activision officially announced that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

Hawk’s original tweets were mostly centered around Activision’s upcoming release of Crash Bandicoot 4 on Switch. Hawk said he was jealous of Crash’s new platform and appealed for a little help from the orange bandicoot to get Pro Skater 1 and 2 on new platforms as well. Hawk’s tweet got replies from all kinds of brand accounts, including the Crash Bandicoot account, Activision, and even Nintendo of America, despite the fact that the new versions of the game hadn’t been announced quite yet. This was clearly part of the marketing campaign building to the official announcement."

"The upgrade offer is not available with physical versions of the game on Xbox One."
Wow isn't my collector's edition so cool?

LucasRuinedChildhood1176d ago

It's also weird how this upgrade is $10 but the Crash one was free.

Amplitude1175d ago (Edited 1175d ago )

Imagine spending $10 to play a game you already own but with a little bit better settings.
Imagine if this came over to the PC space. "Use DLSS and RTX features for only $9.99"

....Oh god let's not give them any ideas

corpsemaker1175d ago

I agree, but want to point out that it’s free if you got the deluxe edition. The $10 also gets you the deluxe edition bonuses (extra skater, skins).

Amplitude1175d ago (Edited 1175d ago )

That just made me throw up in my mouth a little lol. I really need to stop supporting these games that have trash deluxe editions with skins and games that put paywalls behind simple settings changes but it's so hard these days

Anyway I bought THPS12 on PC so I'm not actually upset, but my main console is PS5 so I just really wish devs would stop this nonsense - especially when so many games have free ps5 updates. Can't help but feel like it's only gonna get worse if people don't vote with their wallets

CertifiedGamer1175d ago

PS5 and XSX should be able to easily run this game at dynamic 4K@120fps

sourOG1173d ago

Free with the deluxe is better than no free upgrade.

I actually wanted to play the sinking city again until I realized the upgrade wasn’t free. Apparently it’s out of their hands because the different versions have different publishers or something along those lines. It still sucks and these things should be free. I was pissed about control because I had the PS4 version and season pass but it didn’t qualify for an upgrade. They remedied this by making it a monthly plus game. Hopefully sinking city gets this sometime soon.
