Rob Pitt writes: Survive! Mr. Cube, from Intragames, is a top-down action game which has been labelled as a ‘roguelike’ experience. However, due to the difficulty of the game and the lack of certain elements, I refuse to refer to it as a ‘roguelike’ as it doesn’t bring with it the challenge and skill-building which you would expect. That being said, the game is entertaining and fun to play, it just has a few flaws which you must be fine with before you decide to purchase and play this incredibly easy platinum trophy game.
An evil wizard is summoning the cube people into his world filled with monsters to see if they’re strong enough to make it out alive. When one person fails, another is beckoned with a different weapon and world to explore. Money earned by defeating enemies is kept throughout the game and can be used to purchase a random item from the shopkeeper for 100 gold.
IntraGames' rogue-lite, Survive! Mr. Cube, has made its way off iOS and onto consoles. How does this transition hold up? We went hands on to find out.
