[PSA] Strong anti-piracy measures implemented by Nintendo for online.

Don’t pirate Nintendo Switch games. That’s the message that prominent hacker SciresM has looked to deliver in an extensive Reddit post where he provided an overview about how application authorization works on the portable home console.

I like buying my games and supporting the developers to continue to make future projects. But saying that, Also don't mind hacking my device to play emulators for games that are not re-released digitally.

Lazyeye792552d ago

I'm all for supporting the developers, but when games rarely go on sale and never drops in price years later (Nintendo), you either buy used (so no money to the developer) or pirate the game.
So when its a game I feel is worth full price, they will get my money. When the game is worth half price and it goes on sale for half price, they will get my money. But when they never lower the price and it's a 'I want to play it but not at that price', what do you do?

Kokyu2552d ago

You dont be a fanboy realize Nintendo is already stealing youtuber ad revenue money and reselling old games for high prices and buy used.

The 10th Rider2551d ago

Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Arms, Splatoon 2, Mario Rabbids, Fire Emblem Warriors and 1-2-Switch have all been on sale. Interestingly enough Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokken Tournament Deluxe, both remasters, are two that haven't seen much of a discount at all.

Killa782552d ago

I imagine most people wouldn't bother taking their real Nintendo accounts online on a hacked console.

Here's a drink that will make you orgasm 20 times per minute BUT everyone will know you're a furry, and you'll probably be banned from your book club. Your move

I’ve got nothing to hide.

...I'm freaking weak in the knees , LOL!

kevnb2552d ago (Edited 2552d ago )

the title doesnt match what he was saying... Heck even the article is ad libing here and there, nice try though. If you play online you will probably get banned, but its a Nintendo console so most people dont play online anyway.

Sirk7x2552d ago

It's more so that if you connect online ever, even to get updates, Nintendo will know, as they receive activity logs. He's saying right now that's there's no way to hide pirated games. If you pirate a game, you have to accept that console as being banned.

kevnb2552d ago

exactly, but the blog makes it seem like they will break your switch or something.

DarkZane2552d ago (Edited 2552d ago )

Even if your console get banned, you can still update your games anyway so it doesn't matter. You only lose eshop access and the ability to play online. Some hackers who got their console banned already can update their games still.

kevnb2551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

now my comment looks foolish since they changed what article is linked and the title. Check the credit url to see what I was talking about.

Sgt_Slaughter2551d ago

Funny, I get into online matches in MK8, Splatoon 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, ARMS, etc., just fine and with no lag but "most people don't play online anyway" so I must be dreaming.

kevnb2551d ago

most people and all people are not the same thing, if you havent noticed the switch is very popular console.

Castle Cab Is a Crazy Taxi-like Co-op Game That's Coming to Switch and Steam

"Sega's Crazy Taxi is an arcade driving classic. It introduced the concept of picking up fares in a taxi and then delivering them to a destination at a breakneck pace. A few games have been inspired by Crazy Taxi, the most interesting of which has to be the upcoming Castle Cab from new indie Australian developer Royal Reign Studios. Not only does Castle Cab take place in a fun medieval setting, it will also feature 4-player split-screen co-op," says Co-Optimus.

Cat Quest III Is Heading to Apple Devices on August 8

"A big part of being a cat pirate is sailing the seas and traveling from place to place. What better way to do just that than by playing Cat Quest III on the go? Soon, aspiring kitty pirates will be able to enjoy the charming cat-themed action RPG on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. That should be a purrfect option for gamers who don't have the game on Switch or Steam Deck. The iOS version will still support 2-player local co-op, thankfully," says Co-Optimus.
