Microsoft and Discord Team Up to Connect Gamers Across Xbox Live and Discord

PC and console gamers, unite! Today we are excited to announce a new collaboration between Xbox and Discord.

In response to your feedback, you will now have the option to link your Discord account to your Xbox account, making it easier than ever to see what your friends are playing. If you are playing Sea of Thieves on your Xbox, you can now choose to give your Discord friends the ability to see that and decide whether they want to hop on their Xbox and join you.

The partnership is bringing cross chat right? Otherwise what's the point, reminds me of Raptr and how much of anfailer that was.

OpenGL2623d ago

Yeah, if there's a discord chat app on Xbox One that'd be great but if it doesn't have this I kind of don't see the point given you can use discord on a smart phone.

Wikkid6662623d ago (Edited 2623d ago )

Yes, there is an app.

PUBG2623d ago

You can talk over the phone on the Xbox app also. There have been times recently where I've been driving home from work, while talking in party chat on my phone.

crazyCoconuts2623d ago

The article just discusses updating the user's status on Discord, no cross chat. Every Win10 install has the Xbox app by default anyway already so it's pretty easy to see someone's status.

While microsoft is lacking in first party content, I respect their contributions to gaming and benefiting gamers as a whole.

They go above and beyond when it comes to services, that much is for sure. It's just a shame that their own software utilizing their own services are so... non-existant.

I like what Microsoft is doing. They already have the console with the best features and user experiences imo, they only need to bring more first party games and diversity...but I'm really enjoying the experience.

I don't understand MS. They're able to get usable features but no games; what's their deal?

meka26112623d ago

Well to be fair they've been doing it for a really long time. Always making new software and new ui's so they got the experience for it. It's just games they lack.

How 2 Escape: Lost Submarine Review | NoobFeed

Asura from NoobFeed writes- How 2 Escape: Lost Submarine is more akin to a psychological examination than it is to conventional video games. The experience will force you to engage in more in-depth thought, put your patience to the test, and put your relationships to the test. It is a tremendous combination of excitement, cognitive challenges, and emotional payoffs, and if you are up to the challenge, How 2 Escape: Lost Submarine is a game that you should try, a bold, lean masterstroke in asymmetric game design.
