Finished part 1, was very underwhelmed. Hopefully part two can clean up the many criticisms I have of the game.

Part one was great. If you had never been a big fan of cRPG games like Baldur’s Gate, then I don’t think you would find PoE to be a good or interesting game.

“horrible UI, terrible item system, horrible character models to myself also?”

The game was designed that way, to be just like that, especially regarding to character model. It was designed to be a throwback to the past cRPG games. If you want cRPG games with great graphic and more modern gameplay, go with Divinity Orginal Sin 2.

I loved the original Baldur's Gate and absolutely loved Divinity Original Sin, which is why I tried PoE.

I can appreciate throw back gaming but I doubt any design team would intentionally add those flaws just because past games had them.

It seemed it was poorly optimized/designed probably due to the limited Kickstarter funds they were working with.

I am definitely hoping they have a much bigger budget and can fix the problems from part one in their sequel.

Hey, @gangsta, you have your opinion. I respect that. I just 100% disagree and hope they make the second game like the first with improvements. Please continue to share your opinion, even if it doesn't line up with mine, though.

Edit: I think some of your criticism are done on purpose by the developers, though. Especially about character models. They're focused on more writing and gameplay than that. Gameplay wasn't perfect, but writing and concepts were definitely a huge improvement over other cRPGs of recent times. Torment: Tides of Numera was extremely disappointing for me considering Planescape: Torment is still my favorite game of all time. Talk about using a ruleset that ruins any game potential.

Thank you Christopher, I'll try. I'm hoping to one day leave an opinion that can be loved and celebrated by all.

And for the record I hope they fix the criticisms I personally had for part one in the sequel. I do enjoy these types of RPGs.

Lmao, After playing Divinty I wanted to play another Baldur's type game for consoles and I got Torment: Tides of Numera.

I never been so disappointed in my life.

I think I sunk in like four hours and was still roaming the first area constantly talking and doing fetch quests. I think I only fought twice out of those four or so hours. I had no idea if I was even progressing the story, stopped and gave it right back to Gamefly.

I think the problem is I went from an excellent game like Divinity on down, when I should have started with Tides, PoE and then Divinity.

The character models for PoE I didn't have too much of a problem but the way the inventory was set up was cumbersome, how a lot of the items text (when comparing items)would overlap each other if the descriptions were too long. And just a lot of other minor things that added up to make a very not so enjoyable experience.

I did play this for Xbox so I don't know if PC had these issues.

PoE: Deadfire, Unless you have a or PS5 or an SSD don't bother, loading times are insane. A minute and a half to go into a room to investigate a desk in an inn and then an additional 1 1/2 minutes to leave the room and then load to leave the inn???

And they never fixed it.
