I was going to wait until an ultimate edition, which this is, but now with even more DLC coming out maybe I should just cave in. it seems they've added a lot to it. makes it seem that the original was incomplete.

guywazeldatatt2634d ago

just buy it. for $49.99 it's a great deal, and you're getting every piece of DLC. just think of the people who had the original game and season pass and now have to buy the royal pack. you'd be saving a ton.

neutralgamer19922634d ago

ninten

i am waiting for the ultimate/complete edition too

guywazeldatatt2634d ago

that probably won't be till 2019/2020 as there are four more pieces of DLC and the Ardyn DLC is the only one confirmed for this year.

neutralgamer19922634d ago

dark

might get a re-release for ps5? i have a huge back log so i don't mind waiting but to each their own

_-EDMIX-_2634d ago

I mean anything extra is going to make the original seem like it's incomplete but in my opinion that's simply just a matter of perspective.

I believe in order for anyone to really confirm that the game was incomplete I mean they would have to even prove that they even knew what in original complete version would even look like anyway to say what it's missing.

-Foxtrot2634d ago

Look at Chapter 8, look at the nose dive it takes, go from there

If you really can't see how downhill, rushed and all over the place Final Fantasy XV was with 60% of the game then I don't know what to say. Even with the Chapters before Chapter 8 it felt pretty repetitive quest wise and features such as off road driving, lack of magic and character switching.

If you enjoyed what you played fine but don't make out it was a full on finished game without issues because it's just not true no matter how well you want to spin it just because you enjoyed it.

neutralgamer19922634d ago

FOX

that's why i am waiting for them to fully complete the game because i feel like for a while the project was in Limbo and than when it was switched to FF15 they had to rush. I got no proof for what i am saying i am only taking a guess

_-EDMIX-_2634d ago

"look at" or "If you really can't see" okay based on your post this seems like this is simply based on your perception you don't have any factual evidence that anything is actually "incomplete" if you don't like the game that's completely fine if in your personal opinion you feel the game is incomplete that's also fine as well but please stop making it this absolute definitive statement as if you're talking about something that's a fact you're simply talking about how you FEEL about the game.

Keep in mind I'm not even disagreeing with that the game very much could feel that way simply that there's not even any real evidence to suggest that the game is unfinished or something was withheld or something wasn't completed or something like that for all we know the games just bad....

Put it this way just to use an example of a game we both like it would be like somebody trying to say that the Evil Within 2 "incomplete" because the team released the free FPS mode.

Could we seriously not just be talking about a game that's bad regardless that just got additional content after its completion?

"If you enjoyed what you played fine but don't make out it was a full on finished game" except whether I like the game or not is not even relevant to my belief that it was likely complete.

I mean based on this logic you might as well say this about every single game that even gets one patch lol so I might like Final Fantasy 15 but clearly I don't care for the story but that doesn't actually mean I'm going to go around trying to pretend as if there was something more that was supposed to actually release especially if we don't even have any real evidence that something else was supposed to be inside of this game for its original completion only people that are really going to know that are the actual developers themselves.

You know who actually knows whether or not its original release was complete? The actual developers themselves ,not you, not me not anyone else that's not based on perception, that's actually based on real facts based on the people who actually designed it.

So if I make a book and at the ending of the book it just ends abruptly mid-sentence, no one else could tell me what the actual real conclusion of my book is or whether my book is finished or not other than me because for all you know it was always written that my book was going to end that way, so what you're going to do is you're going to tell me what my book was supposed to end like? oh it's unfinished even though you didn't write the book and don't know that it's ending was exactly what it was supposed to be written as? So you're the author of my book and not me? 😂😂😂 28514;

So understand you're not really arguing about what really happened you're actually arguing about what you "think" happened you're arguing about what "it looks like" you're arguing about perception which should actually be noted as opinion and not stated like a fact.

Last time I remember whether or not you like the game or not you're not Square Enix and you're not the developer that created this.

Trust me I don't disagree with your perception of even believing this simply behaving as if it is a fact

ImportGamer30042634d ago

The fact the game is still being patched about a year and a half later says a lot. It was rushed because Squeenix juggled too many franchises at once as it generally does. Did you know that loads of content that was supposed to be in the game like Noctis & co. fighting their way out of the city against invading Niflheim forces was cut from the game. In fact about 2 months ago director Hajime Tabata stated that there's NO reason to patch in the rest of the plotholes that remain in the original story. The combat is monotonous and boring after a while, it pales in comparison to NieR:Automata a game which is not only complete from the get go but features an amazing combat system, shoot 'em up & platforming elements that break up the gameplay. Also unlike FFXV, with NieR:Automata you have a game that is far more complete though in order for the entire story to make sense you have to get multiple endings but at least they don't take forever to get each ending. Also you can play as more than one character, with FFXV you had to wait a year in order for that feature to be patched when character switching is a staple that has been in rpg's a long time. Tales of Berseria, Ni No Kuni II, even the crappy Star Ocean 5 has it, there's no excuse on Squeenix's part no excuse and it took a year. How pathetic and inexcusable.

Unless FFXV has the original story intended, features an improved combat system, and everything that was intended for an alternate ending. Until then i won't go back to FFXV.

This is the ultimate edition. Any future content is covered under the season pass

ImportGamer30042634d ago

FFXV was enjoyable, but the combat is way more monotonous than anything. Just get NieR:Automata the game is better and complete in every way.

“the multiplayer expansion pack, which actually takes place after the events of Final Fantasy XV”

The Comrades Expansion takes place during Final Fantasy XV

guywazeldatatt2634d ago

I read it takes place after the narrative. ah. sorry.

emiyaxtousaka2634d ago

it takes place after chapter 13 in the main quest.

guywazeldatatt2634d ago

@emiya thanks just saw that. guess the article/source of information i used on that while researching for this article was wrong. thanks.

PhoenixUp2634d ago

It takes place during the 10 year time gap

guywazeldatatt2634d ago

okay thanks I don't know why so many places have said different things (the FFXV wiki said after chapter 13). I've always been more single-player minded, though I want to check it out of course.

PhoenixUp2634d ago

It’s after Chapter 13 and before Chapter 14

emiyaxtousaka2634d ago

I waited until the Royal Edition to buy the game on PS4 and I have to say I'm glad I did, from what I hear. I really enjoyed it from beginning to end and still have plenty to do. I can't really relate to all of the divisiveness when it was first released and glad i went into it not knowing much.

guywazeldatatt2634d ago

I almost wish I'd done that because I was so disappointed when I got it I kinda begrudgingly played through the end. I eventually sold it, but then picked up the Royal Edition and I'm finding I really really like the game.

Steveoreno12634d ago

Can't believe you bought this 💩 twice

guywazeldatatt2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

@steve considering I bought it on sale and sold it for more than I bought it for, then bought the royal edition with everything included, I think I made out well. Only sold it due to money problems, not because I literally hated the game. And why is it crap? What makes it so bad? It's actually a really touching story with great characters, fun combat, and incredible music. You can't ask for more.

Pancit_Canton2634d ago

I'll wait for the Emperor Edition lol

narsaku2634d ago

I wish I would have waited. As in, never purchased. At least until the next 3 cut content story DLCS drop.

neutralgamer19922634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

i will wait for the real complete edition after all the upcoming DLC

if there is a new release i hope they package all FF15 content including movies/videos in one package

Episode Ignis is the best...not even a debate.
Of the episodes in the Royal Edition.

I haven't played Episode Ardyn though. It's on my mind now. Right after Death Stranding then.

Teflon021343d ago

I forgot to try them. This reminded me I've never done them. I may have to go back and do them now

Snookies121343d ago

You are correct, Ignis had the best DLC hands down.

Iltapalanyymi1342d ago

still mad they cancelled the other dlc episodes

It's not an anomaly, MS spent all last gen working on their BC software, Sony just started. Will we see it expand to meet MSs version? Who knows, would be cool, but i wouldn't hold my breath. Just greatful we get any for of BC honestly

phoenixwing1547d ago

this mentality melts away once you get a pc. then it's not about luck it's about gaming with a complete library :)

Sunny123451547d ago

Lol complete library with not a single exclusive goty in the last 10 years. I think pc had like 2 exclusive games above the meta of 90 online past 5-7 years. No thanks to your mediocre library

phoenixwing1547d ago

You have to be really delusional to hate on pc gaming library that spans around 40 years.

isarai1547d ago

I have a PC, it isn't that easy, especially with older games where you have to start running off dos, fiddling with compatibility modes or virtual machines. Sure modern games are fine, but if we're talking going back as far as consoles, it's not easy

AndrewM1546d ago

Just recently got a gaming pc for first time in over 12 years....and your comment is still dumb.

Dragonopolis1546d ago (Edited 1546d ago )

Its not a totally dumb comment but a bit harsh. As far as a full library..... most are generic knock offs of popular games within their genre. 60%-70% of the games are blah on pc.

Add in all the cheaters and exploiters makes online pc gaming not fun.

Also in the PC world the regular gamer who has the most expensive hardware is at major advantage over those gamers who stick to basic controls mechanisms. Great Hardware goes a long way in overcoming poor strategies. Hardware can make or brake a gamer, no matter how good they are, and paying for premium PC hardware is a must for any serious gamer on PC

Type 40 or more wordspm and a macro keyboard is godlike on PC

NapalmSanctuary1545d ago

@Sunny12345

You're missing the point dude. With PC you don't just get PC games, you get ALL the games.

I love that the new hardware is bringing a new lease on life to existing games. Hell... I'd love it if Sony could add in PS3 support at some point as well. I know i will get disagrees who think new machine means 'only' new games but we are seeing new experiences with existing games. So why not embrace the benefits of making something old feel new again?

Orchard1547d ago (Edited 1547d ago )

Totally agree - I would love PS3 backwards compatibility. I'd love to replay MGS4 on a modern console at 60FPS (or even a stable 30fps if Konami won't patch it - the game struggles a bit on PS3).

Fist4achin1547d ago

Full BC would be the greatest!

dmonee1547d ago

Are we still doing this? I thought fanboy articles were a ps3, xbox360 thing?

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH1546d ago

Thank God last gen games are BC and better than ever because if it weren't for them we'd all still be playing Demon's Soul's and The Medium for the last 5 months....
