Patch being released for PS3's graphic issues with Bioshock

Good news, PS3 gamers. 2K Games will be rolling out a patch in response to the graphical issues brought up against the Big Daddy textures in the PS3 version of BioShock (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).

This was announced by 2K Community Manager Elizabeth on the official 2K forums today. The patch will fix two issues:

eric1006103d ago

but it was the only good game on ps3 and thats a good news that it is now on PS3 too

anyway would u buy a multiplat game over Resistance 2/LBP /Motorstorm 2 and awesome ps3 fall lineup

No

so it doesnt matter

Are you mad? The game is still the same except for a few difference in textures. You are getting additional exclusive content and the patch comes out for the players, not the reviewers to enjoy and you still find time to complain. My oh my....may I be damned.

This game looks great and plays great. Too nitpicky.

Muuuuch better, picken this one up for sure, ive been waiting too long to hold back now

Its been stated by Elizabeth that there is a slight blur effect that is utilized to optimize performance for the PS3, though I think it was blown out of proportion by many gamers who were playing the demo in 1080p, which looks much blurier than played at 720p,

Take a look at "Royal Bear's" post midway down the page

http://forums.2kgames.com/f...

I have the demo running at 720p and it looks just like his 2nd picture which is great, the 1080p picture looks like that resolution needs the patch the most, but im sure this will all get taken care of a little after the release, even though this should have been caught by the development team long ago

Has anyone else had the results that Royal Bear and I have had with the demo running at 720p? I think the game looks pretty great.

SaiyanFury6102d ago

Indeed. I tried the demo at 1080p on my HDTV and it was somewhat blurry. I can simply reduce my resolution and if this patch helps fix problems, then I'd have little issue buying the PS3 version. I play it on my PC with my 360 controller at a resolution of 1680x1050 with 4xAA, but I'm always open to experiencing it through my home theatre. Dolby Digital is a great thing.

Silogon6103d ago

If and this is a big if, I'm going to buy this cause I absolutley love the gameplay in the Ps3 version. It's so smooth and direct. The xbox 360 version feels slugish and dull in comparison. It has the graphics, yes... but the Ps3's controller, and the frame rate is stellar.

CrippleH6103d ago

At least they are fixing it.

That shows that they care for quality unlike bad port jobs.

Omegasyde6103d ago

...companies should really run some Quality Assurance tests on their products before mass production.

I would expect as much since we are paying 60$(GBP~EURO Equivalent) and the this game is single player only.

DiabloRising6103d ago

Many companies do. But even with large teams, things can slip through the cracks, especially when it comes to deadlines and levels of priority (crashes, etc.) Many QA teams are working 80 + hours a week to get gamers the best experience they can, but even they can only do so much dude.

Unless its batwoman were they right it off

It's 10 years too late for a BioShock film. The world of Rapture would have been perfect for a film. It's actually a good candidate for proper utilization of 3D, for increased depth rather than bullshit popping out of the screen. It could really show off the underwater city that way. But BioShock as a brand is so irrelevant these days that a film just doesn't make sense. Especially considering it would need a big budget and top notch effects to really take advantage of the IP.

gold_drake340d ago

i agree on the bigger budget. all the cgi they'd need for the background.

but i think it would work better as a show. a movie would be too short to establish the story

TheNamelessOne340d ago

Netflix greenlights anything, so that shows me very little faith in the project. Enough to just crap something out as they're, more and more, known to do.

badkolo339d ago

its where b movies go to live, its run by democrats , dont expect anything good from netflix

Knightofelemia340d ago (Edited 340d ago )

I'll laugh if it turns out to be better then the Borderlands movie
