Abo Khashem Review | TheXboxHub

Gareth writes: "We've all woken up without any idea of where we are, or what has happened the night before. Haven't we? It must be true because I can't remember half of my mid-twenties. But what would happen if you woke up surrounded by cats with boxes on their heads, in a petrol station in a middle eastern country and you can't remember your name? Well, the protagonist in Abo Khashem starts the game with that exact problem, and as you gather yourself to find out the truth about your circumstances, this weird, crazy, very funny journey begins to slowly unfold."

Abo Khashem (PS4) - Review | SquareXO

Rob Pitt writes: Where do I begin with Abo Khashem? I imagine it’s most likely a game which flew under your radar which you have no idea what it is, or about – If so, I wouldn’t blame you as there has been very little in terms of advertising and whilst performing a quick search online, it appears there wasn’t much coverage in terms of major review outlets either. Abo Khashem is a ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ type of game where the developer, Moving Dimensions, clearly had a set vision yet decided to throw in every single gameplay mechanic they could think of. The sad thing is, I really enjoyed playing Abo Khashem and some aspects were done really well, but it was let down by a lot of the tacked-on secondary mechanics. One thing I will say before I begin to get into things, don’t judge a book by it’s cover – the devs have done a lot to improve the game over the day-one trailers so don’t push it aside based on an initial glance.

Okay. Strangest, obscure and most intriguing and potentially good games I've come across in a while. Gives me a Dreams vibe for some reason.

It is, it's one of those "so bad, it's good" titles. At launch it was a mess, cars pinging all over the place, combat was a mess, the UI was terrible and you couldn't read the font unless you were about 2 feet from the TV - but they have patched a lot of it and it's now more than playable.

I've completed the game twice and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I would have done.
