PUBG Might Be In Trouble If It Doesn't Evolve

The market is there for that type of game and it's known industry wide.

Guarantee somebody is currently making a PS5 & Next Xbox next gen version of Battle Royale game and it's going to deuce all over PUBG.

I tried it. I see why people like it but it’s too silly and cartoony for me. It looks nice but I also really don’t like how it plays. The building, while a neat aspect, ends up just becoming infuriating during gun fights.

I come from more of a classic Clancy, arma, tactical think before you strike mindset. Which is why I prefer PUBG. However. PUBG desperately needs more maps. They’re using UE4. Maps don’t take very long to build in UE4. You can have a highly detailed 16x16 world done in a day. Testing and tweaking is what takes a while.

Given pubgs player tested nature, they should develop maps along side the community. Release an early version on test servers. Gather data. Ask players. Then make changes. Would probably speed up development.

Fortnite has a story mode; so people like me who enjoy the game don't have to PvP if we don't want to.
