Twinfinite Writes: Final Fantasy XV's Royal Edition and the Royal Pack DLC is now out. Here's everything you might need to know about the new addition to the game.
Rango writes: I recently beat Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition for the first time and I've got to say it was an impressive game. Now that I've finished tackling the DLC episodes, I would like to briefly cover each episode and how well they stack up with one another and the core game as a whole.
Episode Ignis is the best...not even a debate.
Of the episodes in the Royal Edition.
I haven't played Episode Ardyn though. It's on my mind now. Right after Death Stranding then.

The PlayStation 5 has beat out Series X in many multiplatform comparisons to varying degrees. Last-gen games, however, showcase a major role reversal with Series X offering a more tangible advantage.
It's not an anomaly, MS spent all last gen working on their BC software, Sony just started. Will we see it expand to meet MSs version? Who knows, would be cool, but i wouldn't hold my breath. Just greatful we get any for of BC honestly
I love that the new hardware is bringing a new lease on life to existing games. Hell... I'd love it if Sony could add in PS3 support at some point as well. I know i will get disagrees who think new machine means 'only' new games but we are seeing new experiences with existing games. So why not embrace the benefits of making something old feel new again?
Thank God last gen games are BC and better than ever because if it weren't for them we'd all still be playing Demon's Soul's and The Medium for the last 5 months....
Might pick this one up on Xbox One X. Played the original on PS4 regular, and could use the visual upgrade when I want to replay it.
I'm shocked that they don't have a cheaper upgrade path for season pass + royal edition. I own the base game on PS4. Never got the season pass. So at this point if I want the pass & royal content, I'm paying $40. On top of the game I already purchased. Now, I'm not saying I expect things for free - it is weird to see the number of people who feel as "day one supporters" they are being screwed...editions with more content for cheaper later is how it works, right? - but it seems a bit strange that they didn't try to entice people like me to just get it all in one fell swoop at like...$30 or something.
As it stands, given the full Royal Edition is $50, and since I have a PC that can crank this (and the demo is beauuutiful with everything turned up), I guess I'll just ultimately buy it again on PC for cheaper down the line and get another copy of the game for less. Hell, I could buy it for $37 through GreenManGaming before launch at one point. Less than the extra content to get my OG copy on PS4 on par. Just a kind of weird price point they've stuck things at.
It doesn't entice me to pick the extra content up the way it is, but hopefully they'll keep tweaking this game. It needs some kind of directors cut down the line with more gaps filled in. Game was pretty fun, but that story was a mess. The last half absolutely fell apart and they split too much of the story across too many mediums.
