And someone with too much money, and too little sense will buy this...

This microstransactions is getting out of hand now, plus mg survival with 10dollar save slot, if there not careful I would not be surprised of a game crash

AnubisG2616d ago

I've been warning people about this stuff since 2006 when I've seen NFS Carbon selling cars individually for $2.99. I kept saying that it will lead to this but everyone kept calling me an idiot and said how great that system was and devs need to make money, blah blah blah. Yeah, now look where we are. 99% of people are complete morons and can only thank themselves for this. I'm just angry that these idiots ruined my hobby.

Totally agree mate, the official word for it her in the UK is "drip effect" it started with sky TV then introducing par per view and so on. Same with the gaming industry. In my opinion and I'm not saying it's the correct way of doing it but I would rather just see a increase in games prices by say £5 or $10 tbh.

I agree with you sprinterboy. I would rather pay $10 more for a complete came absent of microtransactions. But than, they better make sure that it's playable day 1.

This, should not be allowed. Something needs to be done because it's getting out of hand.

It will correct itself in time

AnubisG2616d ago

Let us hope. But ever since the introduction of microtransactions, it has onpy gotten worst.

Gridknac2616d ago

There is nothing to be done. It's a free market. It only exists because somebody wants it and will pay that for it. Until people stop buying it, it will never go away. It's not like a giant company would say no to millions of dollars based on moral grounds. The whole practice is a cancer on gaming. Fortunately we know the cure, complete non participation.

Things like the battlefront fiasco will continue to happen. Consumers will get tired of getting nickle and dimed. The market will correct itself with a crash and big pubs, ubisoft, ea, activision will most likely be slapped hard. The "cool" new way to present your games will be saying they contain no microtransactions.
Capitalism will run its course. IMO
