Far Cry 3: Classic Edition Will be a Re-Release

Far Cry 3: Classic Edition will be a re-release of the original game as opposed to being enhanced when it first releases as part of the Far Cry 5 season pass.

Oh well. A 60fps remaster would have been good. Far Cry 3 is one of the best open world games I've played, I enjoyed FC4 but not as much as 3. Can't wait to play FC5.

I feel like FC 4 was better in every aspect besides story. I personally, don't buy FC games for the story so when people want a great open world and don't care for story I will say FC 4 over 3 for that reason.

Yeah, in all honesty, I liked 4 a lot to story wise but I actually make up story lines for my character. he only used a bow and I (in my head) gave him a reason why he did that. People always use well Vas was the best Villain, and I am like he wasn't even the main one and didn't last through the whole campaign and the main one was nothing special.

I didn't care for FC3 or FC4 story almost equally. FC4 gameplay was a vast improvement, IMHO, though. FarCry Primal is something we should all just admit never existed.

From the screenshots I saw that was easily one of the war's transfer jobs I've ever seen this generation.

It makes you appreciate the quality work that gets done by transfer team like bluepoint games.

if thats the case then far cry3 standalone for Xbox one doesn't need a re-release when far cry 3 on xbox360 is already available via Xbox one backwards compatibility

I'm assuming it will be a PC port to all systems which would be greatly improved over the console versions. The PS3 for example barely held together a solid frame rate plus was made using a cell processor which would of been much harder to port the game as opposed to porting the PC version

Being playable doesn't actually mean you don't need a free copy as it doesn't even make any sense.

If I'm reading correctly what this is is that I'm having a complete edition that you get for free for buying the season pass for Far Cry 5

The game being playable on Xbox one because of backwards compatibility doesn't actually mean that you don't need the free copy of Far Cry 3 forgetting the season pass.

Soooo I'm pretty positive you could own an Xbox One and a 360 and not own Far Cry 3.

Being available for backwards compatibility does it actually mean every person automatically with an Xbox one has a copy of Far Cry 3 or any game on that backwards compatibility list.

Not with those measly laptop CPUs. You could maybe get into the mid 40s in some games, but a locked 60 on an open world the size of Far Cry 3's is a tall order.

Being open world has nothing to do with it. The PS4 has gotten plenty of remasters that play in 60 fps. The PS4 may have a "measly laptop cpu" but has a decent gpu. The console is much more powerful then last gen consoles and can handle an older game in 60 fps. Here's proof that you are wrong, http://www.videogamerplus.c... Some games run at 60 fps and some don't. It all depends on the developers. It's definitely possible.

Being open world has a lot to do with it actually. Everything has to be streamed in all the time. There's tons of global systems that have to run all the time too because its a very systemic game. The CPU is the main factor when talking about frame rate. All the GPU power in the world can't help a CPU feed it data faster.

It all depends on sooo many things. Just because there is a bigger map, doesn't mean the entire map is loaded all at the same time with infinite draw distance. Metal Gear Splid V is open world and it runs at 60 fps and has better textures and details than Far Cry 3. Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is sort of open world and runs at 60 fps. But to you, those are probably convenient acceptions.

When I first built a gaming pc , far cry 3 was one of the first games I beat. It looks amazing on pc at ultra /60. Shame they didn’t bother

It's being ported, just not remastered like SOTC. Think more along the lines of the DMC or Tomb Raider re releases, or the Dead Rising re release.

I actually pre-ordered & paid the full price for the Gold version as it seemed like actually a good deal. Haven’t done either of those things in probably 5+ years. Already think I’m starting to regret it, well done Ubi.

I played the original version on PS3 so even if it was a re-release, it's gotta be better than the version I played.
Either that, or you CAN port PS3 games to the 4 and Sony has some 'splainin ta dooo.

Regardless, having the ability to play this game with a DS4, flipping in and out of main menu, and recoding capability is good enough for me!! Just being able to play it on my PS4 Pro is an upgrade....just don't let Ubisoft hear that lol

Regardless, I can't wait to play FC5 and the remaster of 3. FC3 was the best in series IMO.

A re release on PS4 will probably be mild remaster. 1080p and 60fps should come for free.

I'm not sure if I'll get FC5 yet, so hopefully this will at least be available as a standalone game on PSN.
