Well I played it on ps2, so on my friend list alone as well as the community hub and feeds I had been spreading the word as much to gain attention on Xbox. I maybe had one to a fes that said nah, most people loved the look of it which surprised me at the time.

So you played everything on ps4 for the first 4 years? You seem to care about that increase in pixels a lot. Personally if I had to choose, I would take spiderman and God of War over having a less than obvious increase in pixels past 1440p. Decreasing returns as far as I am concerned.

Pro has a "checkerboarded" res while xbox has a native res. So the xbox outputs at least twice the pixel count and looks much sharper on a 4k screen.

PS4 Pro: 1800p CB in resolution mode, always above 30FPS, performance and graphics mode are both 1080p, performance averages at 45ish FPS, graphics is the same as resolution

and here is what they say about the X
- XB1X: 1728p (4x base XB1), roughly the same performance as Pro in resolution, 1080p in graphics and performance, graphics averages at the same frame rate as performance on Pro, performance is usually better and can even reach 50+fps in less demanding areas.

Honestly if I were that much into exclusives I'd of jumped ship myself or the very least just done myself the favour of owning both a ms and Sony console as do like both..

Answer: It is up to developers how they use the additional power. It is just a matter of optimization and compromise eye-candy you wanne see.

Resolution is just one thing to get raise the picture quality. If developers decide 1600p is enough they optimize for this resolution. Well in fact, capcom seem to not have optimized well at all. base consoles are way under 30fps and mid-gen consoles are over 30 but way below 60. This doesn't make sense.
4k is easily reachable on PS4 Pro and x1x, it is just how you want to spend this.

They never promised every game will run at 4k on the new box. This just isn't possible. But it is easier to reach the 4k because it has a bigger gpu, more bandwidth and memory. What developers make out of this is up to developers.

Btw, Forza 7 is 4k 60, Gears 4 4k 30, Forza Horizon 3 4k 30 and there are other titles.
Does resolution matter, no, the bigger GPU is just used for a better overall image-quality. Don't know why there are still people that think pacman in 4k would look & play way better than in 320*200 (well actually bellow that).

And I have more than enough to play on my PS4, switch, PC and x1x, but not enough time ;)
