Shadow of the Colossus Review (PS4 Pro) - Remastered Masterpiece | MWEB GameZone

MWEB GameZone writes: "It is hard to believe that this was once a PS2 game. Shadow of the Colossus is simply gorgeous on every level. This is the best version of the best game ever made."

Looks fantastic. I never played the older versions as I was always a PC gamer, but now with a PS4 Pro, this looks like a must-buy

Glad the remaster was handled well. Bluepoint shows other studios how to do it right.

spicelicka2671d ago (Edited 2671d ago )

Yes it is, a remaster would be a simple HD upgrade like most games are. This a remake like Rachet and Clank, Halo MCC, etc.

The term "remaster" is just a nice way to say its a port that at least is rendered at higher resolution. They obviously needed a simple term to get it across that the port was better than the original.

Guess you could call it a "remasterpiece".

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil14d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb14d ago (Edited 14d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

Wayyy to many games to list but the first 3 that popped in my head.
1.Okami
2.ESPN NFL 2K5
3.GTA San Andreas

DarXyde175d ago

Good list, but I would replace Onimusha with a Onimusha 2.

Amplitude175d ago

Amplitude still holds up brilliantly

Agent75174d ago

I'd say Onimisha 2 and Turismo 4 was better. Maximo, Auto Modellista, Shox, Wipeout Fusion and pulse, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution to name a few.

piroh181d ago

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic180d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23180d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1180d ago (Edited 180d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger171d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.
