Monster Hunter Twitter responds to Matchmaking issues

“Hello Hunters, we’re aware of the Xbox matchmaking issues and dev team is actively investigating it, we’ll update you as soon as we can.”

CyberSentinel2662d ago

Fair concern, surprising Capcom wouldn’t do an open beta for all platforms.

lxeasy2662d ago

Yeah Betas should not be exclusive to consoles if its multiplat.

tiyoxela2661d ago

No problems for me so far in connection but sucks for those who have not upgraded to the Xbox One X which runs it fantastic.

Jinger2662d ago

I have the X1X and while the Game looks and plays fantastic... The servers are empty, no one is in the social areas or posting jobs supposedly.. the matchmaking is jacked right now

NecrumOddBoy2661d ago

Empty servers are the result of no one playing on the Xbox

Cueil2661d ago

Plenty of people are LFG just use that for now

KillBill2661d ago

@NecrumOddBoy - bad timing on the attempted slam of servers being empty on XB1 when PSN issues caused even a large event like #FIFAeWorldCup to get moved to Xbox. A huge fiasco for Sony. https://twitter.com/Futhead...

Dark_Knightmare22661d ago

Yeah because that is what's keeping the mp from being jacked up lol man you're such a fanboy and will plug the x1x any chance you get like you're trying to justify your purchase to yourself or something

killswitch802661d ago

its not empty servers on xbox one .matchmaking is just completely broke at the moment.

killswitch802661d ago

you are playing with friends...its matchmaking that is broke. You can still add friends to your sessions or join friend session. ..no one will ever join you and you can never join randoms

Sm00thNinja2661d ago

Y'all just love spreading misinformation to push an agenda. Game is broken online atm. I habe the game on Pro and have been unable to get online since day one, zero hour. Has nothing to do with Xbox One player counts or servers, game is busted.

SirBradders2661d ago

I have it on the pro and I have zero problem finding games and I'm HR9 so have spent a fair few hours online.

Sm00thNinja2661d ago

I'm only HR5 just beat the Anjanath and STILL have yet to connect without a 5xxx error or 399x error. Game is great regardless but I eventually wanna play online

ziggurcat2660d ago (Edited 2660d ago )

"I habe the game on Pro and have been unable to get online since day one, zero hour."

So then it has nothing to do with the beta being exclusive... ?

Maybe the problem is that there aren't enough players on Xbox to be able to connect with someone near enough to create a stable connection.

Jinger2662d ago (Edited 2662d ago )

I doubt that. It's 16 players to a social space. You telling me there is less than 16 players?

Servbot412661d ago

Spaces don't even fill up to 16 on PS4 because people are usually jumping from room to room. Its not remotely difficult to find a party on PS4, but room size isn't proof of that.

chris2352661d ago

with the missing number of games on the xoxbox this really could be the case

OpieWinston2661d ago

Guess when I saw no one in CoD WW2 HQ it was not enough players.
No it's not showing anyone, when my body and I are in the same group in the gathering hub.

Broomfondle2661d ago

Still playing COD Infinite Warfare.

AizenSosuke2662d ago

Lack of Xbox players like Japanese games nothing new here

kdmitchell_toh2662d ago

Means nothing. this was a game that is/was going to be released on both the PS4 and Xbox One. Their parity hurt the Xbox One, regardless the status of the system in Japan. I and other gaming journalists have been asking Capcom for months, why there wasn't any word on either the PC or Xbox One beta for the title. We found out why the PC didn't have one, but they were mum on the Xbox One.

The fact that the Xbox One X version runs just as good (bad) as the PS4 Pro version is an issue. Friends have stated the single and multiplayer was a wreck, which is why I changed my pre-order to the PS4 version. I still have my Xbox One version, but since it's a CE, I'm just going to sell it.

Teflon022661d ago

What you don't get is that this is a Japanese dev. They just don't care about a console struggling to doo 100k lifetime. So that's why if it's only on par with pro, that's all the work they did. I'm still surprised that Xbox got the game at all

nix2661d ago

Everyone knows the game is going to sell the most on PS4. Even I'm surprised that it got an Xbox release.

mokkeyrg22661d ago

X1 version plays fine lol wat on earth r u woffling.

Rude-ro2661d ago

The pairity hurt the Xbox?
You do realize these console only run phrases versions of the core console. Ie the Xbox one hurts the x.
If anything, the Xbox one hurts all consoles.

killswitch802661d ago

ha ha no..its just broke ...so if that was the logic that would mean no one is plaing monster hunter world but the reality is matchmaking is broke..you can play with friends though.

Kribwalker2662d ago

there’s server issues on a system that wasnt properly tested in the wild, and No? Really? Ziggur you got more sense then that

ziggurcat2662d ago (Edited 2662d ago )

the blame lies on the shoulders of the devs, not the amount of betas.

and how do you know it wasn't properly tested? I worked in video game QA for many years, even the most rigourous in-house testing isn't going to predict how the game functions in a real-world environment. I've seen games be perfectly fine during the development cycle, and end up having a few hiccups once its released.

Kribwalker2661d ago

it wasn’t vigorously tested if there wasn’t a beta tho ziggur. an open beta is the only way to have real world testing. and one of the consoles had real world testing while the other didn’t.

ziggurcat2661d ago

You're just assuming with no proof, Krib. I've worked in that environment, I know what goes on, especially when it comes to online functionality testing. An open beta still isn't going to reveal every single problem.

Kribwalker2661d ago

“even the most rigourous in-house testing isn't going to predict how the game functions in a real-world environment”

the only way to predict it is to use a real world test, otherwise known as an open betA

ziggurcat2661d ago

Nope. Even that won’t prevent issues from surfacing once the game hits the retail market.

Kribwalker2661d ago

So you are telling me there is no way for them to have prevented issues like these ones by doing an open beta? So there was no chance they would have found any of these issues by doing an open beta? None at all? Then why would they do open betas on games? If it wasn’t to test for issues

ziggurcat2661d ago (Edited 2661d ago )

There is no way to prevent 100% of issues from occurring.

"So there was no chance they would have found any of these issues by doing an open beta?"

I never said some of these thing wouldn't get caught, I said that open betas don't catch 100% of everything, even matchmaking problems:

"An open beta still isn't going to reveal every single problem."

Plus with open betas you're relying on people who mainly download these things just so they can play the game early, not report bugs. They're not as effective as you think they are.

Because you had fun. I started Monster Hunter with my son on PSP 17 years ago. We put a ton of hours into the games since then. Never did I look back at any game I’ve sunk a lot of hours into and think, I might regret having all that fun.
