Monster Hunter World is close to releasing, which means it’s no better time to reminisce and look back at some of the best Monster Hunter games that came before it.

Nintendo will be shutting down the eShop for the 3DS and Wii U completely in 2023. Makes sure to check out these games before they do.
If they're not important enough to be held on their own official storefront then they're not important enough to give your money to Nintendo.
Buy these, physically, used or simply emulate them.

Wait hang on where all the outrage? I swear when Sony tried to do this with PS3 last year. There was outrage from all corners of the gaming universe.

Oh I have a fair few websites reporting on it. But where is the outcry on here? I remember their was 2-3 approved top voted articles when Sony announced they where closing the PS3 store. All slating them and not caring about customers.

N4G is a fanboy site, mainly frequented by only Sony.
Microsoft is their direct competition, so you'll typically only see articles that are made to rile up those fanbases.
Nintendo does it's own thing, so they're rarely brought up, aside from their fans. The most you get is the same typical two or three posters claiming Nintendo is only for infants.
If you come to N4G for educated discourse and reasonable discussion, this isn't the place. Sad as it is.
It's lame that it is shutting down. Now I feel rushed buying all the rpgs I missed out on the system.
You guys know that even archive.org has 3DS roms, and all other console roms. I'm downloading 846GB of 3DS roms and will add the best games to my soon to be soft modded New 3DS 😁. Might as well throw in DS and other emulators in there to. Guys this would be the best way to play and enjoy the 3DS. Just need to buy a bigger micro SD card and format it to FAT32, which you can if it's even 256GB or larger there are ways.

However Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite selling 1.3 million still seems underwhelming especially in comparison Injustice 2 sales. Even a new IP like Arms somehow sold more even when it was on only one platform compared to the storied MvC’s latest installment
RE5 is decent and re7 has been out for 2-3 years, but I agree. 4 selling less than 5 and 6 is especially strange,.. I've bought it like 4-5 times lol.
RE5 is actually really cool. With RE6 they tried to re-invent the wheel with the "3rd person action" genre and they made the wheel octagonal instead. LOL
5 sold so well due to co-op. If they make RE8 play like RE2 but can play with a friend it will sell even better in my opinion.
Operation Raccoon City also outsold Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 2. Raccoon City was a terrible game, it's disheartening to see it outsell a classic like Devil May Cry.
5 was a killer co op game, people bought 6 hoping for the same. Also sales for a sequel often rely on the previous entry.

Monster Hunter: World is notable among various other things to be the one game that proved to be more successful than them however.
that is your opinion...I love RE, but 5 was ok , 6 I didn't even play past the first hour...4 was a game changer and the BEST one thus far. 7 was meh.

SF IV sold 3.4 and SFV sold 2.9. not bad for an exculsive, I thought SF IV was around 5+ million.
I thought Devil May Cry was 5 million+ but apparently none of DMC reached 5M. :O

I love how certain people bashed SFV claiming it was an epic flop. In reality SFV sold decently at around 3 million units thus far. Dead Rising 4 truly was a flop at a cool 1.0 million. Jus sayin..

We should be glad we even got RE7 and RE2 Remake and got Capcom to return RE franchise to it's roots !

No. Not really. They were steps in a better direction for sure. But they still didn't feel quite right.
They sold like crap so nope. Turning of tides is made with money (corporate speaking). so no money, no change.
Jessica, Quint, Keith and Raymond as well as the plot of "become a terrrorist to get funding against terrorism" (and I'm not even gonna start on the Orochimaru-mind-swap-with-pris oner-from-the-island plotline from Revelations 2) is horrible. 7 is the one that should take all the glory, and Remake 2 for refining it.
It's utterly disappointing to see RE6 as Capcom's third best selling game all-time. Do people just buy any that's shoved in their face? Market a turd enough and i guess it'll sell..
