Judging purely from a visual standpoint, this looks like a fairly simple platformer, and in some ways that’s correct, but dig a little deeper and you’ll uncover a title that’s more ambitious than you may expect.
Iconoclasts is a lovely Metroidvania title by solo developer Joakim Sandberg that initially released back in 2018, and it was praised for its incredible storytelling, beautiful art style, challenging puzzles, and so much more. Jason Capp is here with the Nindie Spotlight on this excellent game.

Daniel writes: "There’s a constant onslaught of Metroidvanias that seem to populate the store like rampant rabbits, so much so that it gets hard to decipher the quality from the scrap heap when searching through. Iconoclasts on Xbox One stands out from the rubble and manages to build itself into not only a great Metroidvania, but an amazing game with an identity of its own."
