Dev: XB1X Hardware Was Even Better Than Expected; Both XB1X and PS4 Pro Have Their Own Advantages

The developers of the upcoming game Railway Empire commented that the Xbox One X hardware was even better than they expected, though both XB1X and PS4 Pro are great and have their own advantages. Getting the game running on the Switch isn't going to be easy but it's not out of the question, either.

Not really sure what they mean. Xbox One X is superior in every way from a hardware standpoint...

Mostafeto2720d ago

Exactly, comparing PS4 Pro and Xbox One X is kind of unfair since one has hardware upgrades while the other features little to no change in the original hardware.

Neonridr2720d ago

well that is on Sony, nobody else to blame there. They opted to keep the same memory and a bunch of other internals.

Xerneas2720d ago

Both are upgrades so its fair to compare them.

Cuzzo632720d ago

@Neonridr
Considering the Pro was created to support PSVR, while the X was created to one up the PS4.

Neonridr2720d ago

@Cuzzo63 - doesn't change the fact that Sony could have upped the CPU more or increased memory. If you are correct in saying that they created the Pro to help support VR then not increasing the memory was a boneheaded move on their part. Memory would be a huge benefit along with a beefier GPU.

They both played their cards for their mid-gen refresh consoles. Sony went first, MS came afterwards with superior specs. So be it.

Mostafeto

ps4 pro has 4.2 TF which means it's a big upgrade over the original ps4

i think sony cared more about coming out first to have a full year to themselves tan to be releasing a $499 console because that price point isn't good if you want to attract wider range of audience

ziggurcat2719d ago

@cuzzo:

"Considering the Pro was created to support PSVR..."

No, it wasn't.

@neon:

"They opted to keep the same memory..."

No. The clock speed for the RAM in the Pro is higher, so it's not the "same memory."

OpenGL2720d ago

It lacks FP16 support and the ID buffer but otherwise you're right.

343_Guilty_Spark2720d ago

And what is FP16 doing on PSPro? Has it added those 8TF of power?

Sm00thNinja2720d ago

Ugh why would you even bring that nonsense up.

OpenGL2720d ago

Never said it added up to 8TFLOPs or that it makes the PS4 Pro somehow more powerful than the Xbox One X, it doens't. It's an added feature that is being implemented in every new GPU and the Xbox One X does not support it. Both AMD's Vega and Nvidia's Volta graphics processors support the feature.

KillBill2720d ago

Correct. As Pro has no advantage over X in terms of Hardware. Any advantage that Pro has is only over its own system iterations.

Jackhass2720d ago

This game actually looks like a ton of fun. It's no slouch visually, either.

LavaLampGoo2720d ago

Now they just need the exclusives...

Professor_K2720d ago

It needs games, and it has them

FyBy2720d ago

And same flame again and again. Xbox has ton of games. But ps has more killer games. That’s all. Thank to third parties there’s a lot of games to play on all systems.

balance2theforce2720d ago (Edited 2720d ago )

Or just the games in general. They do have exclusives. There's at least three or four games on it that I would want to play that aren't on sony's or Nintendo's machines. And can we please stop with the selective use of this word and went in does and doesn't count? When we want to throw shade at Zelda, we talked about the fact that there's a Wii U version. So it shouldn't be counted as a check in the box for an exclusive when it comes to the Switch. Yet in the same breath some of these same folks were flaunting and showering praise upon titles like the last of us and person5 as exclusives.

Even though there's a ps3 version for both of those games and the last of us can even be played on non sony devices. Shit, Nioh and Nier are/were brought up and treated like exclusives because they aren't on any other platforms and touted as reasons why sony are doing great with exclusives. While hardly and credit is being given to the hard-working people that created the game that sony had nothing to do with.

Not to mention when exclusives actually matter to people here. Which seems to go out the window whenever Nintendo's name's been mentioned. Not just recently, but over the years in general. As We Know that that has always been one of their strengths consistently forever. And well before it became a talking point and the cool thing to say for many of the parrots here.

So much so that even the haters and Fanboys of other consoles are quick to point out that people only buy Nintendo platforms for the exclusives. Lmao like that's a bad thing given how much they talk nothing but exclusives and act like that's all that matters now all of a sudden (especially) here. Oh, but when it comes to Nintendo all we want to do is give Champagne Room lap dances to third parties and felate them to no end. LOL give me a break man.

Stuff like that's the reason why the goalposts now have wheels and are probably going to have to be fully automated around here soon. The constant uprooting of them to place somewhere else when it fits an agenda is tearing up the turf. All of these systems have more than enough games to satiate any gamer's appetite. Especially if even a third of the people out here bumping their gums are the adults that they claim to be. And if not, there's always options out there to help with that. Stop trying to make this a damn contest and doing the fanboy life thing.

Will definitely be keeping a eye on this game , i have both the x and pro and dont really care what will be the better version ....if at all .
