God of War Has No Nudity (But a Lot of Violence)

God of War's ESRB rating has been released, and along with it being a fresh direction in terms of gameplay for the hack 'n' slash series, the reboot will also seemingly move away from the copious amounts of nudity featured in its predecessors.

@DragonKnight I don’t know about that. All Cory Barlog said the game going to focus on character and story and exploration. Last year, he confirmed the game won’t have any sex mini game, all he mixing the game up. Nothing else after that. That’s all I remember.

But if you watched SMO reveal trailer, you can see there was poster art that Bowser grab Peach. In the final game, Bowser didn’t grab Peach in poster art. Now I don’t know it’s a “censored” or not, but it’s seem Nintendo didn’t want to cause a another “trouble”. You can see it on tumblr or another sites. About the war between censorship and uncensorship, it just keep go on and on.

Personally, I think that when a game features nudity is just pandering to people's morbidity, similar to how certain animes/mangas like Fairy Tail try to compensate terrible writing with fanservice everywhere. That the new GoW cuts away such a "traditional element" implies that the game designers truly believe in the game they're making.
