Bayonetta 3 Coming to Switch, Along with Bayoneta 1&2

During The Gaming Awards today, Nintendo announced something colossal. Nintendo and PlatinumGames are working on a third iteration on the beloved Bayonetta franchise.

Bayonetta 2 was a disappointment. It had poor level design. "Fight two enemies in a flat plane in the sky and then fight the same-feeling boss and then rinse and repeat". And also it was on last gen hardware.

I don’t understand people who claim to be fans of a particular series, and then when they see a sequel is being made for a console they don’t like, they skip the sequel all together. Like out of spite, or something. I had a friend back in the day who haaaated Nintendo, and I remember it was around the time Twilight Princess was about to release, he would call it gay lol. But even HE bought a Gamecube JUST TO PLAY MGS TWIN SNAKES! A game in a series that he’s a fan of, on a console wasn’t a fan of.

Apparently Sega funded Bayonetta 2 all they could before they threw a temper tantrum because Platinum burned through the cash. Depends if the story is true though. Personally I am inclined to believe it didn't meet Sega's expectations.

On switch are mostly mobile ports and some even with MT

It's the exact same feeling for anyone that wanted the DMC collection on Switch as it is for any other console owner that wanted Bay 2 and 3 on other systems.

The difference is that Nintendo is literally the only one who wanted to fund Bay 2, and likely the same case came around for Bay 3.

And I don't THINK I'll get a PS4, I KNOW I will, for games like that, Kingdom Hearts 3, and the Mana remake.
Unlike people who sit there whining over getting a new console whenever something like Bay 3 drops as an exclusive.
To Nintendo gamers who don't have any desire to get anything else, DMC may as well be an exclusive, because for all intents and purposes, just like Bay 3 with others, it's not coming to their system of choice.

Nintendo is helping to fund this game (could be fully funding it for all we know). So they have every right to have exclusivity.

I'm really happy we are getting Bayonetta 3. But it really sucks that it is exclusive to the Switch, especially after the recent release of Bayonetta 1 on PC earlier this year. I thought it was an indication that they would bring more of Bayonetta to PC and other platforms but guess not. I'm assuming it's Switch exclusive since 2 is Nintendo exclusive, but nomenclature varies between companies.

Bay 2 literally would not have existed without Nintendo; the project would have been dropped.
We don't know if it's the same case for Bay 3, but it's likely, unlike with Shenmue 3 etc.
