"The Xbox One X is here and gamers are going to have to make an unusual choice that they don’t normally have to make. They will have to decide if they want to pick up a true new mid-gen console or not. The PS4 Pro came out last year with some impressive specs of its own, but the Xbox One X is as powerful as advertised. If you want the most powerful home console currently on the market capable of making games look as good as they possibly can (PC excluded of course), then you’re going to need to pony up the $500 for the Xbox One X" By Ed McGlone
"The Kosice-based (Slovakia) indie games publisher Grindstone and Bratislava-based (Slovakia) indie games developer Bitmap Galaxy,, are today very delighted and proud to announce that the full version (v1.0) of their cozy puzzle nature-building game “Preserve“, is coming to PC (via Steam) and consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch via digital stores on May 15th, 2025." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Meta revealed that an Xbox VR headset was on the way back in 2024, so where is it? And what form can we expect it to take?
Yea, the problem is that the games worth playing in VR in Microsoft's catalog do not run on Meta OS. Hands down one of the best VR experiences I've had was MS Flight Simulator, and you need a beast of a system to run it well! The one thing that could push Meta headsets is an "official" release of Minecraft VR. You had to do some workarounds before to get it running in VR (which is an amazing experience, I don't actually play the game flat), but they just removed all VR support for the game after an update at the end of March. Bring it back with an official, easy to use Meta Quest version. I wouldn't buy an XBox branded Quest, but I'd at least like to see them do a bigger push into VR. Doubt they'd do it bc it's still so niche, and they're struggling atm and trimming the fat as it is. (But omg, would I kill for an official Forza Horizon in VR w wheel support!!)
I'm not sure that a Metaquest with an Xbox logo slapped on it constitutes it being an "Xbox" headset. But whatever.
At the moment, this remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny looks like it’ll be exactly what fans crave from Onimusha, while adding in a brand new mode and accessible content right out of the gate.
For me its the console that has great exclusives, looking forward to ghost of tsushima,GOW,TLOUpt2,spiderman etc. Ps4pro hands down because I can play those games at a higher Res. Bone x....well no quality exclusives on that so pointless.
As a standalone device or for Xbox only gamers, the XBO-X is worth it (9/10) IMO
The problem comes when you include the competition, price, and gaming diversity into the equation, and that's where the value decreases for many gamers. PlayStation 4 has been on top since 2013, Switch is hot right now and I don't see that slowing down for at least another 2+ years. When it comes to exclusives PlayStation and Nintendo are blowing it out the water with PlayStation taking care of the Mature crowd and Nintendo taking care of the E for Everyone crowd. And price is up to the user, but the reality is PS4 and XBOs will be $199 this Black Friday with the leaked ads, so that's another $300 that could be spend on games instead of the XBO-X, and this late into the generation the largest group buying consoles are the casual-core who are looking for a $199 price not a $499 console.
Yes.
if you are into multiplats then definitely. One X is going the be the definitive console experience for 3rd party games. But exclusives are what draw you to the machine, and Sony and Nintendo have those in spades. MS needs to pick it up a little if they hope to win over more fans.
