Silent Hill: Townfall is shrouded in mystery, leaving the game with the tough task of meeting the expectations of franchise fans.
No Code Studio's history of atmospheric horror in Observation and Stories Untold is great news for the development of Silent Hill: Townfall.
Yea, we’ll see. So far, not a single western developer could capture what made Silent Hill, well, Silent Hill.
I think it might be a cultural thing, but I’d feel a lot better if a Japanese developer were handling these. I do think Bloober Team has shown the most promise with their trailer.
Konami has announced Silent Hill: Townfall! The game is being developed by No Code in conjunction with Annapurna Interactive.
I have no idea about this one, it didn't show anything. But still... this was a horrible show of them trying to churn out as many convoluted piles of junk as they could and call them Silent Hill. Trust me, none of this stuff has anything to do, or feels anything like the original Silent Hill trilogy.
For the Silent Hill 2 remake, they completely botched the James Sunderland model, there is no way anyone who loved the original Silent Hill 2 could tell me they see James Sunderland in that "old fart". And if you can't even get James Sunderland right, then what chance do you have?
But the question is why? Why even try it with this version of Konami who hasn't made a good game in ages and has nothing... They have absolutely no talented developers, there is no way they can possible do a masterpiece like Silent Hill 2 justice. It's insulting to be quite honest.
The only thing that looked even remotely interesting was Silent Hill f, it was pretty grotesque, just the idea of the spores and growing the fungus or plants on you like that. Just the idea made me a bit itchy. I don't think it's got the potential to be one of my all time favs like Silent Hill 2 but it's a game that's on my radar at least. Even if it wasn't called Silent Hill, if it was called something totally different. It would of still got my attention.
Stories Untold was excellent. I played very little of Observation so I cant speak about that but I'm optimistic about this team taking on a SH related side project
