Out of the top twenty games on that PS4 list, only one game is exclusive to PS4 (three if you count Zodiac Age and P5, but if you do, then every remaster and cross-gen release on the Switch counts too). So I'd argue that the good old PC received just as many quality games as the PS4 this year and even has its own killer exclusive (for now) in the form of Divinity 2 -- but of course you'd never mention that.

I’m talking about the games you can play on PS4, not games you can only play on PS4. There’s no reason to strike any game from that list when my point that the console received the most games still stands.

It only had 1 exclusive that was 90+ on metacritic. Nintendo has 3 games that are 90+ The rest of those games on PS4 are on pc and Xbox one as well. Nintendo has higher quality exclusives this year. We still have xenoblade chronicles coming as well I predict low 90s on metacritic. Not only that but 2 of Nintendo’s games this year are the highest rated games in the last 15 years. Nintendo is competing for game of the year against itself.

Two games doesn’t invalidate an immense of other games on another system. That’s like saying The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Wii U makes that discontinued system have the better 2017 library than PS4 & XO.

Many good PS4 games this year are multiplats such as Tales of Berseria, Nier, Nioh, Hellblade, and Dangaronpa.

The only two good PS4 exclusive this year imo are Horizon and Persona 5. And even then Persona 5 can be emulated on PC.

I'm not saying that the PS4 has a bad year, quite far from it. This is their best year yet but exclusive wise, they are behind Nintendo.

PS4 has had a great year of software that offered a great deal of of exclusives and multiplats far more than any other dedicated platform. This fact can’t be discredited or denied.

Let’s not try to sweep the fact that NS has missed out on various multiplats this year under the rug. People will enjoy a great game. no matter how many platforms it’s on, and PS4 is the only console that offers both large amounts of exclusives and multiplats to keep its audience satiated.

Games on Sony consoles have sold around double the amount of games sold on Nintendo consoles globally. Please tell me exactly how Nintendo is dominating this year ?

Switch launched 3 months into the year and faced extreme shortages, but as stock is becoming available, has really started to catch on.

It is doing really well for itself, but could be doing even better if it was readily available. Sales of 1st party exclusives paint the picture with Zelda, Mario Kart and Mario Odyssey selling well into the millions.

I will agree that it's not dominating over Sony, but neither is the opposite true. Both are selling extremely well, and you would have to be an insecure fanboy to not see that.

Obviously a multiplat will sell better on the PS4 than any other system considering the install base (minus indies that sell better on the Switch according to most of the recent articles). PS4 also has considerably more games, so shouldn't it sell more games combined anyways?

How does that link prove me wrong ? It's one month, and it only counts the US. The US doesn't count for the whole world. Globally, Sony have sold twice as many games on their consoles and they have sold more consoles in 2017. My problem with the article is that the headline is simply not true, facts prove that. Even if they were doing better than Sony consoles, it still wouldn't be dominating. There is a difference between doing better and dominating.

The switch is a shitty console, design and hardware wise.
PlayStation has more power, more exclusives, more GOOD exclusives and games FAR BETTER than BotW or SMO, like uncharted 4, bloodborne or horizon zero dawn. The new god of war will be 10000x better than mario, i already know it.

I have to strongly disagree with this. Playstation 4 will probably never get games as well designed and polished as BOTW or SMO. Nintendo is the king of exclusives and have been since the 80s. Sony has better graphics, Nintendo is more fun and better gameplay.

Ps4 and switch are good yes , and even tho botw, Mario and splatoon made it , i cant say its dominating. As said yes these are great games to say the least but ps4 also had a powerful year . The PS4 is great, the Switch is great, Xbox seems to be trying to correct mistakes. The indie scene is thriving, and aside from publishers turning to the dark side with MT and GaaS, it's a great time to be a gamer. I hope younger kids/teens look back at it as fondly as I do with the PS2/Xbox/GC era. Those were good times lol.
