CPU problem. Is just to much to reach 60 frames.

Tko11112823d ago

That’s not what he said. A game written for 30fps is difficult to change to 60 because the renderer was built with specifications of 30fps. Since the console version is separate from the pc version they couldn’t just brute force 60fps.

Kingthrash3602823d ago

Yeah that's what he said....but the truth is that cpu is trash. It's not only this game it's halo wars 2 running at 21fps at times. It's a problem for the pro as well..the cpus are just trash

Fishy Fingers2823d ago

The N4G developers have spoken.

corroios2823d ago

The jag CPU isnt even good for 1080p gaming and much less for 4k. Its the weakest spot of consoles this gen.

Last gen was the huge lack of ram on both consoles. This gen is the CPU.

ProjectVulcan2823d ago (Edited 2823d ago )

World of Tanks works fine in 60FPS on PC. It's just these consoles couldn't do it, Xbox One X can't either

letsa_go2823d ago

That isn't what he said either.

McCue noted that, “The increase in power from the base Xbox One to the Scorpio is a close match for what is required to bring a 1080p game up to 4K, so without significant additional renderer changes it’s not enough to also increase framerate from 30 fps to 60 fps.

There is enough power in the Xbox One X to push a game from 1080p to 4k. In order to also increase from 30fps to 60fps (in addition to going to 4k), you need 2 times more power than what is needed to just get it to 4k. That is what he is saying. The only way to squeeze out more performance, like he said, is to make significant renderer changes.

Obscure_Observer2823d ago

@Kingtrash360

What knowledge do you have in this specific area to back it up your claims? None! Plus, Halo Wars 2 is not finished yet, so i would advise you to take a breath before you go out running your mouth as usual. Not to mention that none game which runs a 30fps on the base Xbox One (or PS4 Pro on the matter) will have double performance on the X even if it´s possible. MS simple will not allow devs to do that. But you´re are well aware of that don´t you?

Obscure_Observer2823d ago

@Fishy Fingers

Pretty much. The worst part is that they can´t event design and run a program on Scratch! Lmao.

spreadlove2823d ago

So is Xbox One X the only console with 4k textures?

Must be because of the extra memory bandwidth and RAM amount. Sweet baby Jesus! Scropio is a monster.

tee_bag2422823d ago

@Tko1111 no that not waht he said.

He said "without significant additional renderer changes it’s not enough to also increase framerate from 30 fps to 60 fps."

In other words - not enough power. Sorry .

Raising the resolution has minimal effect on FPS...

OMGitzThatGuy2823d ago

If the game is CPU limited then yes, but if it was GPU limited then the game would drop frames.

kevnb2823d ago

yes exactly, thanks for clarifying that.

Maybe its not what he said, but I agree, that CPU is not something exceptional. Its little tweaked original jaguar cpu. IPC is horrible there, so freq little over 2 GHz is far from stellar (despite having 8 cores).

trainsgofast2822d ago

Here is what should have been said!

“The increase in power from the base Xbox One to the Scorpio is a close match for what is required to bring a 1080p game up to 4K, so without significant additional renderer changes it’s not enough to also increase framerate from 30 fps to 60 fps~ "on are engine"

If all of these engines can do 60FPS then why not yours?
Call of Duty: WWII
DOOM
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Titanfall 2
Halo 5
F1 2017
Forza Motorsport 7
Minecraft
Project Cars 2
Super Lucky's Tale
This game was made with 30 frames and they did not put the time in to get more out off the CPU.

Like phil said its up to devs to use all that power how they want

Destiny10802822d ago

if phil said it

it must be true

LordJamar2822d ago

No, its true cause that's what there doing. Using the resources how they want chill man

OffRoadKing2823d ago

lol, World of Tanks. All higher resolution textures for this game are is lipstick on a pig, looks like something from the PS2 days.

I love this controller. Feels so nice in the hand. Plus the battery lasts for days, it's crazy.

peppeaccardo14h ago

$100 ?????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????? ???????????????

1nsomniac14h ago

Yea the pricing for Nintendo peripherals is a bigger joke than the game prices. What the hell were they thinking!

peppeaccardo4h ago

i mean for a piece of slightly redesigned plastic with the same take of the last few years this has written GREED all over it ! Shame on Nintendo.

OMNlPOTENT47m ago

It's $85. The standard Dualsense is $75. The Dualsense Edge (Playstation Pro controller) is $200. The Xbox Elite (Xbox Pro controller) is also $200. How exactly is $85 so drastically insane compared to those prices?

Neonridr12m ago

the battery lasts like 10 times as long as a dualsense though.

Vits14h ago

The thing is, over the past decade, third-party controllers have really stepped up. You can often get better quality, more durability, and stronger performance for half the price of first-party options. Meanwhile, controllers from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have become increasingly mediocre, expensive, fragile, and not particularly impressive across the board. What makes this especially noticeable with Nintendo is that they’re surprisingly open to third-party hardware. That openness ends up highlighting just how much better the alternatives are.

Vits9h ago

Pretty much most things by half a dozen of chinese manufactures. Like, 8bitdo, Gamesir, Machenike, Gulikit, Flydigi, Manba, EasySMX, etc.

The exception would be really low tier stuff by those companies... those wouldn't be better, they would be about the same quality. But more durable.

Themba7611h ago

Best controller I’ve ever used I even like more than my dual sense edge

UltimateOwnage4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

Having used Dual Sense, Pro Controller 1, and 8BitDo Ultimate extensively, I am pretty much in love with Pro Controller 2. The easy reassignment on the grip buttons is such a big plus, but the soft edge joysticks are the best feeling sticks of any controller I’ve ever used. It’s really an awesome controller. The HD Rumble 2 also finally has some thud and the headphone jack is great with a pair of good phones. It’s worth the slight price increase IMO.

PRIMORDUS10h ago

I have the original pro controller and TBH, I don't use it as much. I'm mostly using the Switch in handheld mode with the Hori Split Pad Compact Controller. I also never use the back buttons to program anything so I will not be buying this one here, so that will be $85.00 in my pocket 😂

Very good dev length for a AAA/AA game I'd say. Companies need to set an aim for this range. 1-2 is too little, I believe 3-4 is perfect. Any more is too much. Games don't need to be these gigantic games full of a crazy amount of content. Just make a good game.

Skate-AK1d 1h ago

Lol. Had no idea who that was, but I will admit they do look quite similar.

Greatness knows greatness. Simple as that. Expedition 33 is a masterpiece, built with a smaller team and with a smaller budget, blowing ubisoft out of the water. It doesn't matter how many devs you have and how much money you throw at it, great studios like Sandfall Interactive will always overcome you.

mastershredder17h ago(Edited 17h ago)

Ideal are you opinions being vacant from any discussion that is not about your own cringy universe Hideo.

The master of Vanity Tech Demos is here to tell us what a good game is. ooooh kay. It's pretty dang obvious without your 2 cents desperately needing relevance. This is just like his GTA grovel a while back. Yuck.

gold_drake16h ago

quite honestly, i havent been able to stop thinking about it ha.

i keep playing it

He’s massively overrated and writes terrible dialogue.
