Platform Nation: Dance Dance Revolution X Review

PN writes: "Dance Dance Revolution X is the latest installment in the long running dancing video game series. This is Konami's tenth anniversary of the game. With the release of a new DDR game means new songs to be bouncing around to on your dance pad. Every game in the series has evolved in someway, this time it is a new dance arrow. The shock arrow must be missed or you will lose apart of your life bar and your combo.

Dance Dance Revolution X is the more than less the same game that many of you have most likely played at least once. Using both your feet you press the corresponding arrow. There are a few modes of play, for instance your basic mode allows you to dance to current list of unlocked songs, and after three rounds there is a chance that you unlocked another song. Street Master mode is an attempt to add some type of story to the game, but kind of fails at it. Street Master mode is more of moving around and dancing with or against people you meet. Modes such as battle, edit, training, and workout also comeback."

Why DDR is still the ultimate dancing game after all these years

Dance Dance Revolution may have burned through its 15 minutes of fame faster than Rebecca Black, but much like a greatest hits album, I keep coming back to the classics -- and I have the dance mats to prove it.

You know this kind of sucks if your an adult and like DDR, if I go in there not going to make a fool of myself by buying a kids meal to get that coupon. Then again, their hasn't been another DDR to this date that I've wanted. Many have become so butchered and skewed it's not really fun anymore. To many of a few American songs are kind of running the buzz for me, and to few Jpop and JRock songs.

What Konami should do is go the Rock band and Guitar Hero route by making a DDR game PS3, Wii, and 360 and offer DLC for it. That way no one will have to worry about picking up another copy to play songs they want to and Konami won't have to waste their time doing more of the discs. Of course if this happens I'd like a create-a-character mode just as well.

besides it could be for my kid...............or I just want the coupon with some food.

I think I'll have me a big greasy American burger value meal with no toy instead. Subway really is not that great...worst sandwich chain around....if it takes you eating out to have a "healthy lifestyle", then you are living a pretty sh!tty life.

Game Chronicles Review: Dance Dance Revolution X

GC writes: "Konami has been printing money over the past decade with their seemingly endless string of "Revolution" games. With literally dozens of Revolution titles ranging from the various Karaoke Revolution iterations, and even more Dance Dance Revolution offshoots, it is a solid indication that there is a fairly solid community of Revolution fans out there buying these games.

While I have a bit of experience with the Kararoke Revolution titles over the years, I have never really paid much interest in the Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) franchise. It actually took my wife and daughter (Amy and Mieke, respectively) asking me to pick them up a DDR game that I requested this review assignment for the latest PS2 release of Dance Dance Revolution X (DDR-X)."
