Nintendo is Doooooooomed. ;p

triverse2836d ago

I am interested in seeing what they take out to make it run on the Switch. Also, what will the frames per second be? I know there are people out there that won't buy it if it is too low of an FPS or certain content is missing.

lptmg2836d ago

60fps but 720p with less particles, it seems

triverse2835d ago

Thank you for the heads up. So far, nothing Earth shattering or "no-buy" except for the hardest of the hard graphics snobs.

Yui_Suzumiya2836d ago

I remember they pulled off the original Doom on SNES. Anything is possible.

Elda2836d ago

That's how I ended up playing Doom...lol.

triverse2835d ago

Minus floors and a ceiling. Still though, it was impressive for the time and still captured the essence of Doom.

SR3882836d ago

Then those people are idiots lol can't enjoy games anymore unless it has 100fps, ultra checkerboard, 12k resolution, no dips or screen tears, no slow down, no particle effects, fully modded and all that shit... Hate to see them play games older than 5-10 years ago :/

triverse2835d ago

I agree, they are idiots. I play games to enjoy them. Not complain if a game drops below 60 FPS when there is a ton of stuff going on on the screen. I am more interested, personally, in what they take out if it effects the game play or level choices (remember Powerslave on the Sega Saturn versus the PlayStation version? Both versions had slightly different level workings than the PC version due to memory limitations. Just wondering if something similar will happen with the Switch version of Doom.

lptmg2836d ago

Doom is my favorite game from this whole gen, I can't freaking wait for it on-the-go

PhoenixUp2836d ago

Can we say Nintendo is Doomed now

triverse2835d ago

The company has been going to hell for years. lol

No snap map feature also if u buy physical copy u have to download multiplayer separately

Gemmol2836d ago

many people ask for this because not everyone wanted multiplayer for it, so its good they give us the option

PhantomTommy2836d ago

I probably won't be picking it up again, but leaving the multiplayer as a separate download is a good idea with the Switch's limited storage. The file size is huge now on PS4 and PC and you have to download all of the maps and crap if you want the single player add-ons like the brilliant arcade mode. I have to keep Doom installed just so I don't have to go through the nightmare of downloading it all again.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil42d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

After watching Scavengers Reign? The answer is unequivocally yes. I really want something out of left field but I think people are too afraid to shake things up.

It's what I love about Shadowrun and Black Mirror. Love, Death, and Robots proved that there's an audience for stuff that doesn't fit the mold.

Weird games in general we don't get enough of, we need more games like Katamari and Mr domino, things like that
