"Some screen grabs from the recently released demo of the PlayStation 3 version of BioShock show some rather pixelated textures when compared to the Xbox 360 version. While this is just a demo, the retail release is just over two weeks away. Is that enough time to fix this issue?
Elizabeth Tobey, 2K Community Manager, had the following to say about it..."
Learn where you can get BioShock Remastered for free and enjoy playing it on your devices, including the Steam Deck.
Console Creatures writes, "The BioShock film at Netflix is still happening but with a reduced budget."
It's 10 years too late for a BioShock film. The world of Rapture would have been perfect for a film. It's actually a good candidate for proper utilization of 3D, for increased depth rather than bullshit popping out of the screen. It could really show off the underwater city that way. But BioShock as a brand is so irrelevant these days that a film just doesn't make sense. Especially considering it would need a big budget and top notch effects to really take advantage of the IP.
Netflix greenlights anything, so that shows me very little faith in the project. Enough to just crap something out as they're, more and more, known to do.
I'll laugh if it turns out to be better then the Borderlands movie
2K Cloud Chamber is ramping up recruitment with 30 job offers on its BioShock team. There's still no word on when the game will launch, though.
Actually looking forward to playing "Judas" from.Ken Levines development team .
since both versions look almost equally good with PS3 having an extra mission
Not true at all, I just played back through the demo for my 4th time and can confirm that their are worse sots than the downed Big Daddy. Evaluate the steps leading down into the vessel going to rapture. Check out the putrid textures of I don't even know what color to call it.
Then, check out the bathroom wall before you enter into the main lobby before the demo ends. The textures on the stalls and toilets are Ps1 quality to the extreme. the, pop any one of the guns into aim mode and check out those nice textures. hahaah, this game is an eye infection waiting to be played. They say the worked hard on the ps3 version, well they didn't work hard enough.
Push the game back and ask Sony to open up their pockets for more dev time. All I gotta say cause this is junk bunk.
Wow, seen some of the screens and so forth and it snot just that.. the ps3 version also doesn't look quite as sharp.
Whats up with that... I expected 2k to handle this job well, not muck it up.
Why does it say I've been IP banned from that site? I've never even been to 2k's website before. Can someone please post the response for me?
As for the textures, most of the metals look good in typical UE3 fashion, but then other things like the I-beams and stone columns have really horrible textures. Like... launch PS2 status. Don't know whether to chock that up to being a demo or not. I still really enjoyed it either way, played through the demo several times. I'm probably gonna buy this, but it's not at the top of my list for the fall. Might actually end up getting it for PC if I buy the new computer I've been eyeballing.
"The texture in the PS3 demo of the downed Big Daddy does not match our level of quality either. This slipped by. We admit it. However, I want to assure you that this is an exception, and not a rule, and while I regret this oversight, we put a lot of love into making this game look amazing for the PS3 and I'm sure that when you play the rest of the demo you will agree that the textures are not all like this one instance."
As i have stated before the downed big daddy isnt the only one affected! The Big Daddy that shows up right after your first plasmid injection is also plagued by pixelaization and there is word that the Kitchen has nothing but bad textures!
