VGC writes: "Eternal Sonata plays as kind of a turn based RPG with some action RPG elements. There are no random encounters so you are free to fight or flee from whatever enemies you wish as you roam through the forest. Once you engage in a battle there's a quick transition to a battle stage. The actual fight is done in turns, but these aren't encompassed by a single move per turn as are most turn based RPG's; instead you'll be given five seconds to do with your character as you will. This five seconds includes running to the character if you are intent on meleeing them, and then mashing "x" to your heart's content. As you lay down combos on your foes you'll increase a counter on the right side of the screen. The higher this number goes, the more powerful your special abilities are when you unleash them with the triangle button. Special abilities come in two varieties: dark and light."

It's crazy to think that Uncharted came out so long ago. I replayed the series last year as part of the Nathan Drake Collection, and the game felt brand new again, even after all these years. Such an enduring franchise.
i like it a lot.
I'll rent it b/c i'm broke.
