This one I understand. It's a high ticket item, and people buying 10 at a time are likely scalping them.

dead_pixels2450d ago

Absolutely. While I'm glad this should help combat bots that have made things hell for those who genuinely want to just own a console, I'm sure some people just looking to buy for friends or family got caught in the crossfire.

man F*** walmart they cancelled my preorder. yelled at them so much and was really pissed

dead_pixels2450d ago

Lots of my friends on FB are getting the same emails today. It sucks, as they were simply buying an extra unit for someone they knew.

Miss_Weeboo2450d ago

Right! Like for 10 people they knew

rocketpanda2450d ago

Wink wink, for people they knew.

dead_pixels2450d ago (Edited 2450d ago )

No, it was absolutely for people they knew, because not everyone's close friends can be camping at a computer all day, waiting for the tiny window when you can actually try to order one. Some people have kids, some people are in meetings, and some people sleep occasionally. Hell, I myself wouldn't have gotten one if it weren't for a friend who was in the right place at the right time and was able to do an in-store pre-order at GameStop.

Not everyone who buys two units is a scalper. Are there a terrible amount? Sure. But good people did get burned here.

Mine too... wait for it... I just emulate muhawhaha.

heartkaizoku2450d ago

This actually happened to some of my friends!

porkChop2450d ago

It sucks for legit buyers. That's unfortunate. But it might help cut down on scalpers at least.

The world could use a little balance - Final Fantasy VI: Replaying a Timeless Classic

"Final Fantasy VI has left one heck of a legacy and it's still thought of as one of the greatest games of all time by many SNES and Final Fantasy fans. It even appeared as the final speedrun in SGDQ 2018 which took roughly seven hours." - Alex Legard from Video Chums

It really is. I think it's a 2D masterpiece: 10.

crazyaejay2120d ago

Agreed. Such happy vibes, too! :D

Einhander19712120d ago

Yes certainly a 2D masterpiece 😀

strayanalog2120d ago

Some things never change. I went back through Yoshi's Island just the end of last year for the umpteenth time and it's still amazing.

Soundtrack is superb until is ruined by crying baby Mario :-D

Mavericks and mayhem - Mega Man X: A First-Timer's Perspective

"I love classic SNES games and Mega Man X was one such title that I felt compelled to play and I finally did so on the SNES Mini. It doesn't have many action games and the only other 2D shooters are Super Metroid and the controller-throwing Contra III: The Alien Wars." - Alex
