Digital Life writes: "These changes don't make it a must-have upgrade for 1G iPod touch owners, though, especially as all the software improvements are available as a firmware upgrade. The 2G iPod touch runs version 2.1 of the operating system out of the box, and in addition to the App Store that was introduced in version 2 (more on that later), it includes the Nike+ iPod application for tracking workouts (compatible with the optional Nike+ iPod sensor) and Genius Playlists, which is an auto playlist feature that can compile a selection of songs based on the musical characteristics of one song that you select.
To look at, the iPod touch is near-identical to the iPhone. It has the same 3.5-inch touchscreen that dominates the front, unmarked home button at the bottom, volume keys on the side and a screen toggle switch on the top. But keen-eyed observers will notice the lack of earpiece on the top half of the iPod touch's face, as well as the missing SIM card tray on the top edge and the lack of camera on the back. That, and it's just under five millimetres thinner than the iPhone 3G, making it easier to slip into a pocket."
