Destiny 2 looks absolutely incredible on the PC - Uncompressed 4K screenshots on Max settings

DSOGaming writes: "Activision and Bungie have launched the PC open beta phase for Destiny 2 and below you can find some uncompressed screenshots from it (obviously without Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain). Destiny 2 comes with a lot of graphics settings to tweak/adjust and even in its current beta state, it runs exceptionally well on the PC platform."

Already preordered for the PC. Can't wait for this and Anthem

freshslicepizza2798d ago

So did I. This whole deal they did with Sony seems rather irrelevant because they can't control the output of information and videos showing how much better the PC version is.

So this is the first game ever to look and perform better on pc?! That is amazing.
And every game to this point on consoles has never been good?!

Wow. :/

I am laughing at those that have no clue of pc gaming/builds and are capping out at 60fps and as low as 720p to get there...
And going against 140+ fps... it is funny.

@Rude-ro
"So this is the first game ever to look and perform better on pc?"

Well it's the first game in quite some time where I seen a console company pay for a marketing deal and has a hush policy on allowing them to talk about the more power console (the XB1X) and then having the PC build look night and day.

GottaBjimmyb2798d ago (Edited 2798d ago )

Sure the PC version looks better than PS4/XB1, but the game hardly looks that great. Almost every other modern FPS looks multiple times better.

I'll be playing on XB1 again but when I build a new PC next year I'll most likely buy another copy of Destiny 2 to try on PC because it does look awesome.

LordoftheCritics2798d ago (Edited 2798d ago )

Destiny 2 PC Beta was incredible. Been playing it more than a beta should be played.

Controls and frame rate are butter smooth.

Visuals are very sharp and everything looked amazing.
This just might be the definitive version.

MegamanXXX2798d ago

It is the definitive version. PC will always be the definitive version depending if you have a high end or midrange PC and as long as the developers optimized it.

Those exclusives though. Am I right. PC is killing the top 20 games this year.....or not

considering the console version runs at 30 fps the difference is huge.

3-4-52798d ago

Destiny 1's controls are the smoothest I've ever used in a shooter ever so I'd expect more of the same in Destiny 2.

I'll be playing on XB1 but I'd assume it would be that much smoother with the 60 fps on PC.

BLKxSEPTEMBER2798d ago

I would get this on PC but it's so outdated (7950 and 8300 fx) so I'm not sure how it would run. I'm trying to decide if I should go with the Pro version or Xbox version with Scorpio upgrade. Most likely xbox since that's where I play online the most. Man I need to upgrade my PC....

kevnb2798d ago

try the open beta and find out.

dp2774072798d ago

I just got done playing the opening act on the PC and it ran amazing on a GTX960 with an I7 and 16GB of ram and that's my older desktop.

BLKxSEPTEMBER2798d ago

I just might do that. How much longer is the beta?

phoenixwing2798d ago (Edited 2798d ago )

@blk

you're going to spend the ridiculous money on the scorpio instead of upgrading your pc? This just seems like a complete waste of money to me. You already own a pro for sony console games why are you letting your pc lag behind? Even buying a switch would make more sense.

However, if that's how you want to spend your money go for it.

BLKxSEPTEMBER2798d ago

Well let's see here...maybe because I'm a console gamer and 500 it's nothing to someone like me. Hope that helps answer your question

phoenixwing2798d ago (Edited 2798d ago )

if you're a console gamer then why did you even put up the pretext that you would want to get it on pc first or at all? Then the argument moves onto whether you should get it for the pro with dlc or the scorpio with slightly better graphics. What you should have just said was that you were gonna get it for the scorpio since you obviously are biased toward it.

_LarZen_2798d ago

Tested it in 4K HDR with more or less solid 60 fps today. It's just mind blowing pretty and fun.

TankCrossing2798d ago

Really impressed by this. Not only is it really well optimised, but you can also turn off all the crap like film grain and motion blur.

No way i can play a console version after sampling the PC beta. Which is a shame as I've already got the console version paid for... Lol :(

What If... Destiny 2's Gambit Was a Hit?

In a world where Gambit thrived, Destiny 2’s seasons, storylines, and even its endgame might’ve revolved around PvEvP as a core foundation.

Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
