Alan Wake is Alive. Comparing Images to Remedy Title

German website PC Games put the magnifying glass to the new in-game screenshot for Alan Wake to see just how much Alan has changed since the Amber Alert went out for him in 2006.

PC Games writes,
In our gallery you can find some comparison images, which Alan Wake was shown two years ago and the optics of the current protagonists are under the microscope. The action-adventure since 2005 is already in development.

Alan actually got older in those 2years.

Laexerias6103d ago

Alan Wake looked bad in 2006, why does it got hyped that much? Lol.
Nyah maybe im just blinded by the great graphics of some games atm...
Like Star Ocean 4, Gears Of War 2, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fable 2... Etc! Oh god those [2] Titles are annoying.

Lord Shuhei Yoshida6103d ago

Ugh I'm stuck in the Open Zone for 6 days...

Back on topic, I'm still waiting for the trailer, maybe some in-game stuff too.

PS: Power of Green, you mention "PS3-ish hues" in the Gamer Zone, what exactly does that mean?

juuken6103d ago

I agree.

It's like the color got sucked out of it. :/

bouncybullet6102d ago

Are you purposely being unintelligent..?

"It's like the color got sucked out of it."

Actually "It's like" he's inside a house at night, lit by a lamp.

In the old pic, he's outside around the time where the sun starts to go down. and the sky gets all orange red..

You know, like in real life...?

juuken6102d ago

bouncybullet, even *then*, the graphics should improve. I know the difference between daylight and being indoors idiot.

aggh im on fire6103d ago

Judging by what ive seen in trailers and shots this looks amazing.

La Chance6103d ago (Edited 6103d ago )

It looks absolutely stunning.Really happy to finally see something new about this game.
Hyped up for it since the the first time they showed the game, the whole atmosphere in the game looks off the hook.If they can pull the whole concept together Im sure its going one crazy game. Those one every decade kind of game.

El_Colombiano6102d ago

"Those one every decade kind of game. "

A shooter?

Bob Dole6102d ago

Pretty sure it's not a shooter.

PirateThom6103d ago

Graphically, it's improved, but the colour seems to have disappeared.

Then again, this is only one screenshot from a trailer which I question in terms of what hardware it's running on.

Fishy Fingers6103d ago (Edited 6103d ago )

Id hazard a guess at PC and cutscene, in the screen released it clearly states "cinematic trailer" also in a native 1080. Look's great though.

where:
1. he's in a building.
2. the lighting is affected by the games atmosphere. Time of day ect. Even in the older screenshots. http://www.alanwake.com/scr...
not much colour there.

power of Green 6103d ago

The game is very natural looking and vibrant lol.

LOL at your attempt to downplay anything you can, pathetic.

ZombieNinjaPanda6103d ago

they changed the scenery from a brighter one to a darkish one.

Whats Alan Wake about anyway?

Seems like it will have a dark story to it.

Lord Shuhei Yoshida6103d ago

Yeah a mix of action, mystery, horror, and the open world genres make up Alan Wake

Xi6103d ago

He's a writer who writes his first book based on dreams he was having, after he finishes the book his wife mysteriously goes missing and he can no longer fall asleep, he heads to bright falls to try and write another book when events that happened in the first begin to take place.

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8430d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

Tacoboto429d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia430d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger430d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie430d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos430d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie430d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh430d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

A thermos is upending the Alan Wake community

Remedy has Alan Wake merch on sale, including a pretty blue thermos. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan, and many players who want a thermos find themselves without one, though it does appear that Remedy is attempting to fix things. Nevertheless, it has resulted in a lot of upset, illustrating just how much the thermos means to Alan Wake fans.
