i dont know about the purists but i ultimately enjoyed and loved Assault Horizon entry , no matter if it received hate because ditched the semi-fantasy world and most of the simulation feeling of previous entries...it was AAA to the bone with unbelivable soundtrack and action

....imo Assault Horzon was the proper evolution of the series instead of returning back to this classic form that lacks a lot of excitement in comarison to AH ....and i dont mean the more anime-esque world that i really like but the gameplay mechanics....and all these come from a huge fan of fighter jets and military vehicle simulation games

Princess_Pilfer2868d ago

You know AAA games are generally garbage right? All style and no substance, and often not a lot of style either.

Ace Combat is campy, melodramatic military hero stories, and a slightly sim leaning arcadey fighter pilot game. They can take that "AAA to the bone" full blown arcade nonsense and go do something different with it, but it doesn't take the place or proper Ace Combat.

NapalmSanctuary2868d ago

I tried my hardest to like AH but there just wasn't anything to grab onto. Forced DFM segments, forced gunship & attack heli missions, immersion breaking pre-canned quick maneuvers, extremely shallow mission design, lame story, no aces to hunt and easy ranking system even on hardest difficulty (The harder the difficulty, the easier it was to get an S rank. How fuckin stupid is that...) so absolutely no replay value, which is one of the primary drivers of value in an AC game. About the only positives I could find in it were the soundtrack and the occasional worthy opponent in online dogfight. Lack of a Strangereal setting was the least of that game's problems.

AH wasn't an evolution of anything. It barely qualified as a game. It had more in common with a Dragon's Lair arcade game from the 80's than it did with AC. It certainly wasn't worth anywhere near the $60 price tag.

Before you Switch haters come in here celebrating

"doesn’t think"

KEYWORD: "THINK"
Meaning they have even tried seeing if it could run it.

Abriael2869d ago (Edited 2869d ago )

i don't think too, and so does anyone who has eyes and has played the game.

slavish02869d ago

Its not coming to switch like most games get over it 😲

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2869d ago (Edited 2869d ago )

I don't even want the game so it not coming Switch doesn't bother me one bit. +
But when a developer say they don't think it can run then that their problem.

freshslicepizza2869d ago

"they want the whole world to be able to play the game, and one platform is not enough for the whole world."

Good, now if most people followed this philosophy there wouldn't be so many arguments.

Doesn't MS have far more 3rd party content "exclusivity" at this point?

Sony has their first parties.

ApocalypseShadow2868d ago (Edited 2868d ago )

Maybe I was out of the loop when they pushed the game back to next year.

I thought the game was multiplatform and the VR exclusive. Since the previous game was multiplatform, I don't see this as an issue. Even if the VR was on all 3 headsets, that would be great having wingman jet missions or battling in the clouds 2 vs 2 like macross zero
https://m.youtube.com/watch...

Just finish the game and make it good like 2,3,4 and 5.

NapalmSanctuary2868d ago

I'd love to play a good Macross game. Last one I played was last year (Macross 30), had to import it. Was pretty cool but it didn't have yaw control for realistic control settings. Arcade controls did the job well enough, though. On the plus side it had almost every craft from every Macross series except Macross Delta.

I might get one in a couple years but I’m in no hurry. Nothing at launch I want to play.

GotGame81818h ago

60 fps Switch games with higher resolution makes it worth it to me.

badz14917h ago

you basically has no choice because it only has old games with ONE new exclusive and a scummy paid demo. old games are all you have and you fanboys are eating it up and let Nintendo get away with this.

PRIMORDUS1d 9h ago

If there are no shortages then why can't we just easily order a Switch 2 online, from Best Buy, Target, Newegg, Amazon etc. No shortages means we can get it by any means, online or in store.

kindi_boy10h ago

move your ass to the nearest Target or Best Buy and you'll find a lot of them.

shinXseijuro1d 11h ago

Maybe there’s shortages in Japan ? But they’re pretty much available lol

shinXseijuro1d 11h ago

But hey saying that creates more hype right !

Good-Smurf20h ago(Edited 20h ago)

There isn't one in US, I saw plenty posting pictures of it many stores in still have plenty in stock.
This is just them referring to stock situation mostly in Japan.
Sounds like he low key also spreading FOMO pressuring people to go out and buy one for no good reason?
It's not exactly flying off the shelves here in Thailand though, there's basically no real hype here at all other than the fanboys lining up for it the first few days.
You can easily order one right now in Thailand from all the official authorized stores, not out of stock at all.
The price of 17800 THB or around 550 USD here for a standard SKU and high game prices probably has a lot to do with it.

badz14917h ago

the standalone Switch 2 is more expensive than the PS5 slim in Malaysia and just $2 cheaper than the Disc PS5 Slim. what a rip-off

Ten Years Later - Still Going Strong: Dying Light: Retouched Update Releasing June 26

Hey Survivors! Tymon here, your favorite Dying Light Franchise Director.

It's been an absolutely wild month here at Techland! We're in the thick of what I'm calling the "Summer of Dying Light," delivering updates and big news across all three Dying Light games. Just a few weeks ago, we dropped the first gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast, revealed its release date, and kicked off pre-orders (if you haven't seen it, check out my last dev blog). I'm incredibly proud of what we're building with The Beast - it’s the culmination of more than 10 years of experience in open-world survival horror!

But here's the thing: we never forget where we came from. That's why, this week, we're not just looking forward - we're rolling out significant updates for both the original Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We promised to support our games for a long time, and we're committed to continuing that support, right through and beyond the launch of Dying Light: The Beast.
