Another Nintendo pass. Seems common

Neonridr2437d ago

never and not currently are not the same things..

OffRoadKing2436d ago

true but currently never and not currently and never not and not never currently and not never not are the same.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2437d ago

Yes extremely common for western developers

_-EDMIX-_2436d ago

You mean most?

FFXV and RE7 and Yakuza series ,Nier and KH3 and many other eastern titles are not coming to Switch so....

I've noticed its not simply a western or eastern thing, its simply many not bringing certain AAA IP over.

Neonridr2436d ago

@EDMIX - where did it say KH3 isn't coming? Square Enix has bumped up their Switch support, even with some sort of FFXV game coming (main port or spinoff).. you used to spout about how Capcom had zero plans for Switch but that changed. Now suddenly Square Enix is your target?

_-EDMIX-_2436d ago

@Neo- Square always supprots Nitendo handhelds.

Doesn't mean you'll see main FF or KH titles.

Did you see FFX or FFXII or FFXIII on DS or 3DS?

Did you see Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2 on any Nintendo system? Heck the collection of Kingdom Hearts titles skipped Wii U even though it clearly exist on PS3.

The fact that its coming to XB sorta shows JUST how much Square does not put main entries on Nintendo systems, they haven't for a very, very, very long time. I'm sure they will support Nintendo, but I see no evidence of that supporting being with main entries of their series outside of what they normally bring. ie Dragon Quest, Bravely Default etc.

I mean...you might get FFXV Pocket edition, its coming to phones so...who knows.

" you used to spout about how Capcom had zero plans for Switch" Ok, you could stop lying now buddy. What I stated was exactly what Capcom stated, they made those statements about Resident Evil and clearly RE7 not being ported sorta shows they are looking to port older titles. I'm not even sure if a new RE title in terms of main entry has even hit a Nintendo system since Gamecube days. You folks are still waiting for RE5-7. If Revelations does badly, who knows. They can very much stop and continue keeping it on PC, PS and XB.

So unless Square comes out and puts FFXV like it is on PS4 and XONE or Kingdom hearts 3, I don't really see them coming to Nintendo systems.

I see World Of Final Fantasy maybe though. The chibi art makes sense for kiddie Nintendo type games.

How do I know if it's a DualShockers article.

They are the only one who ask these question for clicks.
Ask a western developer if they are going to support the Switch if they don't even have a game already in development or coming is the stupidest question to ask.

The answer will always be "no" "nothing planned"

_-EDMIX-_2436d ago

Ok and?

"Ask a western developer if they are going to support the Switch if they don't even have a game already in development or coming is the stupidest question"

???

Watchdogs came to PS4 and XONE before they had devkits.

Did you just assume that all the launch games for PS4 and XONE just got made in mere months?

What does that have to do with a port?

So you are mad that someone is asking and they are saying no? ummmm ok.

Neonridr2436d ago

Wii U had Watch Dogs too..

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2436d ago

what does PS4 and Xbox One have to do with my comment?

_-EDMIX-_2436d ago

@Neo- Yes.....ok. your point?

I don't understand what you are saying. Wii U had Watchdogs...um...yes. The point is simply that Watchdogs was made and in development before Ubisoft got devkits for PS4 or XONE and likely even before Wii U gave em devkits. Yet...released on PS4, XONE and yes Wii U.

Nothing is stopping them from porting a game to Switch other then either tech or the assumption of low sales.

@Otak- "what does PS4 and Xbox One have to do with my comment?"

Both got many launch titles of the AAA variety.

Your statement

"Ask a western developer if they are going to support the Switch if they don't even have a game already in development"

Thats not really relevant as they can easily port. When PS4 and XONE launched, they got many titles, developers are not making games from devkits ALONE from ground up at launch, MOST of those titles if not all of them where made on other hardware and ported over to PS4 and XONE. ie they didn't need a devkit to start development of the game.

That would suggest that games are being made in months....

I have this game for Steam... I gave up due to boredom at the first major boss... I just think the game is way too tedious for it's own good personally

Called the lack of switch third party support long go. It's a repeat of the WiiU situation in which the hardware is too underpowered compared to the competition that devs don't want to put in the effort to downgrade or make compromises to their games to make them work on such weak hardware. As the gen drags on the next 2-3 years and engines become more advanced and devs push for more in games, we'll see even less third party support on switch.
