'Loyal' would suppose you stay with your preferred brand over other brands. You can still have your preferred brand and get other brands too in addition.
I mean yea haha the term is overused and a bit meaningless.
People will always have preferences. Nothing wrong with that.
I think people who can't stand other gamers preferences, or 'loyalty' as only them call it, are far more debatable.

Here's the thing that bothers me...

I am not able to call out MS for their shady practices and lack of support, studios, and AAA titles without being called a fanboy. I guess I am pretty loyal to Sony because of how much they have delivered over the years, but I still try to hold their feet to the fire, which most fans of MS fail to do for some reason. I have bought an XBox before and been burned.. multiple times.. yet I can't call them out or hate what they're doing without being called a fanboy..

Loyalty is different than blind, delusional fanboyism, which I hate to say happens WAYYY more on the MS side. There are Sony fans that can't see Sony do any wrong, but on the MS side it is insane..

Just a lot of consumers realize Microsoft pays for their media hype and it is very hard to separate shills from legitimate opinions.
That is what comes from years of negative use through media partners. People no longer believe it.

It's not much of a console tbh. Like, the upcoming X is what I originally expected from a mid gen refresh, so I'm kind of impressed M$ stuck with it, and there's a couple gems in there like Halo MC Collectors/5, Gears of War, Forza Horizon 3, "Obv, the best racer ever made by far.", and a couple other cool things like Dead Rising, Sunset Overdrive...

You know, etc etc and thing here and there.. But it really doesn't stack up vs it's competition. It's even losing 3rd party japanese games now, and that SHOULDN'T be happening. PS4 is an English console as well.

I will admit I am looking forward to M$'s must have games being playable in 4k with nicer assets for the first time this gen, "for me at least"...

But I just want them to invest in a proper Fable reboot/Conkers Bad Fur Day 2/Banjo Kazooie 3 etc etc etc... They need to seriously start fkn trying here because an online pirate game ain't gonna cut it for their consumers.

The console is fine. If it's all I had, I'd have games to play on it. The only reason I barely play it now is because I play them on my PS4, so the X1 became just for the rare exclusive that comes along that I do want to play....which in MS pipeline right now equals zero, but to each their own.

I also got it for similar reasons and off topic but the new dashboard we have coming on X1 looks 100x better

I've owned both the Xbox one and ps4 (now pro).
The ps4 was for the games and my friends. While the Xbox was designed to be my multi media and bc plus ms exclusives.

Multimedia (being the snap tv) was broken, a laggy mess. And ruined what should've been a nice addition to my new system.

Bc was great. Tad slow off the bat but picked up well.

Ms exclusives, we all know where that went.
Sun set over drive was an amazing game on the Xbox one. But it was one of the very few I played on the system.

I went back to the ps4 as my go to console. Leaving the Xbox one to collect dust. I finally got around to selling the console.

That experience left a horrible taste. Now I'm not interested in the Xbox on s or x.

I'd rather a Nintendo Switch as my next console if I were to buy another console.

I have an open affair. I'm something of a video game console whore because I frequently enjoy the "services ;) " of what they all have to offer. This generation I got the PS4 first (last gen too) but as a lover of games, and with the luxury to afford more than one system there's always something on the Xbox to tempt me to purchase it. I always tend to get the Xbox later, when there is a nice trade in deal i can benefit from.

Enjoying PlayStation, and still being able to afford Xbox, has always worked out great because there is always great games to discover on the platform. 360 gen, it was Mass Effect that pulled me into Xbox, and even thought it later came to PS3, having the 360 opened me up to the world of Halo, Gears, and other fun games like 'Splosion Man.

This generation, the Xbox let me experience such gems as Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, and what will probably be one of my favorite games of all time, ORI AND THE BLIND FOREST.

I also enjoy my Wii U with Mario platformers, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong. And rare tittle like Bayonetta 2.

I guess pretty low standards were set.. Software is the MAIN reason for a console.. Interesting and new AAA games that cannot be experienced elsewhere.. TO ME, Xbox is at the bottom of the list in that regard..

let me tell you something sony is doing it the right way and so efficient. Yes, sony didnt do well in vita but they support it since ever in time Wii U got total bye bye before zelda release. Yes sony didnt do well in killzone, knack, the order, but the huge power and amazing influence to be able to sell exclusives rpgs like HZd, persona5 and Nier each one sold almost 2 millions and more than 3 millions that something. In time xbox does nothing except crying because ps4 pro released and people realized that 4k isnt total the real dress for this gen and their new late console wont sell. In time nintendo saying they are not here to compete and locking alot of contents behind amiboos and rip of acc + lying about total failure most silly internet. Even my vita can do party chat etc and its just handheld.
