GamesRadar - Back in 2002, bringing The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind to Xbox was a risk, but one that blazed the trail for modern console RPGs.
Although The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind was a great game for its time, it was not the first western RPG on consoles. There were quite a number of western RPGs released on PS1 prior.
I think he said " Open World RPGs". Morrowind change changed the gaming world. It was very bold and ambitious even on PC. Has nothing to do with Xbox vs PS or WRPG VS JRPG. To put it in context, Morrowind is still more complex a game than any RPG I have played since. That includes Skyrim, Fallout and the Witcher 3.
I beg to differ "By coming to, and conquering, the Xbox, Morrowind introduced the western RPG to the console scene"
Morrowind was awesome
